Roasty, slightly sweet, light bodied black beer, 5.5% ABV and 19 IBUs. For sometime, this has been our ’dark horse’ beer. Many people have had a chance to try our earlier versions of this beer, but our current batch is one of the best. This beer is making its official debut at the Eat Real Festival in Oakland and will then be on tap wherever Linden St. beers are to be found.

On tap at the Linden Street Brewery. Adam, the brewer, poured it himself. Pours an opaque, dark chestnut-cola color with a short off white head. Unbrewed coffee and hazelnut aromas. Coffee and nutty flavors with coffee acidity at the finish. Somewhat thin, but decent. Very drinkable.

On draft in Oakland. Dark brown with a creamy head. Aroma of bread dough, coffee and fruity esters. Flavor is rich malt, chocolate and coffee. Medium body with average carbonation. Another beer from Linden that calls itself a lager but seems more like an ale to me. Decent non the less.

12 ounce sample on tap at øl in Walnut Creek. The aroma is very roasty with some burnt cocoa hints present. Scant coffee. Nice enough aroma. Mostly opaque dark brown body with a foamy tan head. Leaves good lacing behind. An attractive beer. Starts with some promising roastiness, which is lightly burnt. The middle thins out big time. I get some huskiness and tannins late. Thin body, which is lacking. Unfortunately, this is pretty one-dimensional and fairly lifeless.
