Bottle 500ml. w. swing top.

Clear medium amber orange colour with a small to average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, sweet malt, light hoppy. Flavour is moderate sweet and light bitter with a average duration, caramel. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. [20130216]

Bottle. Pale amber colour with an off-white head. Aroma is caramel, malt, fruit, hay. Flavour is caramel, malt, hop, fruit, hay. Medium body. OK beer.

Note: I beg you to ignore the ticker-tasting ratings from bottles shared among a dozen people - such treatment of a well-crafted lager intended to be enjoyed as a full serving is shameful.

clear deep chestnut brown body with a small, finely-bubbled off-white head. patchy, long-lasting lacing. rich sweet toffee Munich malt nose with bright calcium and other minerals. exceptionally clean and fluid on the tongue with rich and soft carbonation. deep and layered toffee, caramel, sweet baked pastries, chestnut oil, acorns and other various toasted nut life. toasty and bready with a soft explosion of low carbonation across middle and back of the tongue. not an off-note to be found. lengthy clean and rich toffee malt finish.

Draught at Brauerei Lindenbräu, November 2012: Bronze with golden highlights. Creamy white collar of foam. Wonderfully fresh and focused aromas of dark bread, licorice, caramelized sugar, and a hint of fruitiness. Gracefully soft carbonation. Fully malty, initially, yet with a beautifully dry edge of breadcrust and toasted pumpernickel bread. Ongoing development of juicy melanoidin thoroughly inundates the palate. Very mild but not overly sweet or overripe fruitiness rejuvenates the malt with a raisiny tinge. Highly quaffable due to impeccable malt extraction and clean attenuation. Deep-seated toasty Munich clutch gives way to bouncier vanilla wafer cookie kissed with unsweetened chocolate and sweet haylike notions. Smidgeon of hazelnut and browned toffee further deepen the captivating malt complexity. Some cakey heftiness in there, as well. Lovely candylike bock presence shines through, though it doesn’t at all approach cloying levels. Raisin jam is tempered by a spicy alcohol glow at the throughly malty finish. A rather fine example of malt nuance and intricacy. Clean, resoundingly deep, well-structured and multilayered. A beer of exceptional detail.

Bottle. Pours amber with an off-white head. Aroma of malt, some fruitiness and caramel. Flavor is sweet and malty with some caramel, yeast and nuts. Medium body, average carbonation.

Bottle. It pours a clear, dark golden body and a small light beige head. The aroma is malty and biscuity, with some light fruityness and some hay. The flavor has some toffee and biscuits, as well as fruityness and a touch of bitterness. Medium body, quite dry, and a bit low on the carbonation. Lightly bitter in the end. Drinkable, but very boring and uninteresting. 130216

Pours clear brown with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, caramel and floral. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

Bottle 50 cl. Courtesy of fonefan. Pours an almost clear amber with a small white head. Caramellish nose. Medium body, caramel and flowery hops with a light bitterness. 160213

Bottle @ fonefan tasting. Hazy dark amber with an off-white head. Aroma is sweet, malty and caramel. Flavor is medium sweet and light bitter. Sweet finish. 160213

Bottle, 5.4%. Clear brown with tiny off-white head. Aroma is malt, caramel, fruit, bread and hop. Flavour is malt, caramel, fruit, bread, medium sweet, little grainy, hop and a little chocolate.
