Bottle at Nuremberger Alm. Bright, clear, golden color with a medium-low, fine head and plenty of carbonation. Crisp, herbal nose, lemony, a bit too much sulfur. Very lemony flavor, minerals, dry malts, wild. Pretty great and original hops. Malts are dry and crisp. Apricot, interesting fruits, and great bitteress too. Good but would be amazing without so much sulphur.

My Bottom Line:
Citrus fruit, flowers and white grape aromatics suffuse this Pilsener’s bright profile, building on minerals and a sturdy mouthfeel.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam sits atop the hazy blond.
-The light minerality and sulfur only add to this beer’s depth of character.
-The hop aromas are quite complex for the style.
-The soft prickling of carbonation works well with the flavor profile.
-Three beers, three absolute winners. These guys really know what they are doing!

Bottle (purchased to-go from Nuerberger Alm, sampled in my apartment). Head is initially small, fizzy/frothy, white, mostly diminishing. Body is clear light yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), lightly to moderately hoppy (herbs), with light notes of DMS and butter. Flavor is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly to moderately bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, moderately bitter. Light to medium body, watery texture, lively/fizzy carbonation, slightly metallic. Passable but still a dumper. Nice hop notes but some flaws taint it. In the mouth it’s quite very watery and thin (much like the draft Vollbier in that regard), but the balance is ok. Pretty standard rendition.

draft at Nurnberger Alm and Lindenbräu
sparkling clear gold, effervescent body with a tall white head. prickly, zesty minerallic spicy German hop nose with a light touch of raw greenness, medium-strength acidity. lean malt body, clean, only a light touch of astringency. superbly soft carbonation is fluffy, pillowy and airy, and the beer as a whole seems quite delicate. lightly grassy Spalt spice to the hop nose as it breathes. quite nice.
