2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 fiulijn (10440) - Como, - MAR 23, 2011
Draught at the brauhaus Cloudy deep blond color; generous head. The aroma has wheat first of all, some spices then; no fruits. Dry and lean mouthfeel, with some wheat flavor, light spices and medium-low bitterness. Overall it’s quite simple.
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20 MartinT (6350) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - JUN 30, 2011
My Bottom Line :
Citrus fruit, bananas and cloves delightfully bounce off of this excellent Weizen’s cake-y doughy yeast for a formidable example of the style.
Further Personal Perceptions :
-A veil of foam sits atop the shiny golden mist and its amber hues.
-This is a cousin to Weihenstephaner in flavor profile and quality of execution, no doubt.
-Drinkability is very high. This is not a dry Weizen, nor is it a very sweet one.
-The super clean flavor presentation and lush body make for a stunning mouthfeel.
-The color is impressive, which is not something I often see in Weizens.
On tap at the brewpub. Thanks Alex!
