COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A potent mahogany ale aged 120 days with all the attributes of a rare wine. Big Band is a lively mix of rich malty apricot and spicy dryness, rounded into a warm, velvety, aphrodisiac elixir.

Hophead22 (2880) - Redlands, by way of Wisconsin,, California, USA - JUL 2, 2008
Tasted 10-7-2002, The main thing I remember about this beer was that it had an amazing aroma, almost exactly like a rose, it was incredible. The taste was also very good. Super beer all around.

Medium to dark ruby color. Boring at first, somewhat sickly, goes to cherries and honey and strawberries, and then finally a bit cloying before and unexpectedly wet finish full of cherries and honey. I can feel the alcohol in my nose. Nice, but nose my ideal barley wine.

A slightly bitter smell, a sweet cherry/berry flavoring. The palate was too thin though. overall it lacked a lot in body.

lemonlovr (190) - Orland Park, Illinois, USA - SEP 29, 2003
Sweet aroma dominated by a cherry/vanilla smell. Appearance is coppery in color. Flavor is mostly berries but with a definite alcohol bite. Mouthfeel is average.

grant (842) - Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA - AUG 12, 2003
A ruby-red orange with obnoxiously thick cream puff lacing. Aroma of the usual plus almonds, bubblegum and watermelons; not exactly what I was expecting. Flavor is indeed a big apricot bomb plus a helping pears, along with medicinal/gauze flavors. Faint flowers and cherry cough syrup round out the swallow. This has little body for a barley, yet somehow manages to coat your mouth with its overwhelming sweetness.

Aubrey (3431) - Bellingham, Washington, USA - AUG 9, 2002
Clear copper with frothy lace. Super-sweet and sugary-smelling nose. Dried fruit flavors exuded. Very smooth nectar with a heavy mouthfeel. Intensely flavored and rich. One of Linden’s best, that I tried.

Huge rasberry nose and flavour. Huge. I mean, this thing is malt infused razbry juice with interesting edges from hops, smoke, and alocohol. Very smooth, too, as the commercial description suggests. Aphrodiasiac? Well, you’ll have to ask brownalegirl about that ...
