3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Beer3000 (3765) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - FEB 16, 2012
500 ml bottle. A nice, clear amber body with a fine beige head. Aroma is malty with spices like cloves, anises and maybe some cinnamon? Not so easy to detect the type of spices, but it gives a nice impression of Christmas without being to overwhelming, I think that’s important with a beer at this low alcohol level. Flavor is mild caramel malt, moderate bitterness and the same spicy feeling that comes from the aroma. Medium to thin body and the aftertaste gives some kind of dry/powder feeling from the spices. A decent Christmas beer that are allowed to sell in Norwegian groceries.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 OleR (4248) - Oslo, NORWAY - FEB 16, 2013
0.5 L bottle purchased @Varnaveien Mineralvann, Moss. A slow gusher, leaving a massive lightly tanned head, atop a translucent deep ruby brown body. Weak but clean aroma of cocoa and milk chocolate. Dry cocoa-accented malt flavor. Some pretty nice milky/yoghurty tones. Mild peppery bitterness. Light to medium full. Sparkling choco-malty finish. A good one.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 Sigmund (4280) - Tau, NORWAY - NOV 8, 2012
500 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 4.7%. Very dark brown colour, nearly black. Moderate off-white head. Distinct aroma of Christmas spices, some roasty notes too, hints of woodwork. Light bodied. Quite dry flavour, roasty notes, hints of spices, bitter hops in the finish and aftertaste.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 visionthing (1727) - Oslo, NORWAY - DEC 6, 2012
50cl bottle from Varnaveien mineralvann, Moss. Pours clear dark brown with a reddish hue and an off-white head. Spicy and malty aroma with some roasty notes. Medium sweet with flavour of malt, caramel and spices and a lightly bitter and spicy finish. Anise seems to be the most easy recognizable spice and it fits quite well. Balanced and easy to drink with more flavour and not so much carbonated caramel water with alcohol feel that some of the Norwegian industrial Christmas brews give.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 yngwie (10798) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - JAN 16, 2012
Bottle, thx to Beer2000. It pours a clear, reddish brown body under a dense, diminishing, beige head. There’s a faint acidic note in the aroma, with a solid dose of cloves and some licorice. Anise instead maybe, hard to tell. The flavor is semi-sweet with some caramel and a lightly spiced touch, cloves mostly. Smooth on the palate, but a bit thin. Roasted, spiced finish. Well, not my first choice of Christmas beer, but an honest and decent beer anyway. Brave to go for a spiced one in this part of Norway. 120116
