Draught. Some oxidation notes and medicinal flavor, wet grass and harsh bitterness from the hops (it is however not overly bitter). Nice toasty malty backbone with some caramel. Almost.

On tap @ Lysverket, Bergen. Deep ruby-hued hazy amber body with a large creamy off-white head. Lovely looks. Nose is red berries, apricot, grass, melon and hints of pine, grapefruit and caramel in the back. Taste is nuts, mild chocolate, sweet red berries, pine, grapefruit, caramel and hints of grass, citric peel and mild nougat. Medium to full body, medium carbonation. Fantastically fresh and drinkable imperial amber ale with loads of complexity and a lovely fruity touch. Amazing. Best from Lindheim so far IMO.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap @ Crowbar. It actually is a reddish looking one this. Deep amber and quite cloudy in the glass with a nice lasting creamy yellow-beige head. On the nose this has a fair amount of red berries blended with a wet grassy kinda silo grassy thing. Oh, it’s quite on the sweeter side of the scale this. In the mouth it’s definitely well carbonated and it has a oily mouthfeel. Kinda needle - herby in a way? Lots of pine bitterness. Sweet concentrated berries definitely located here, as is a mild roastiness. A nice alco warmth gives this another’s dimension. The more time it gets in the glass the more it opens up turning almost in to a flavor bomb. Is this some sort of American strong ale? It sure tastes like that, and I quite like American strong ales. 25.05.2014
