This is not a beer, this is mead, an alcoholic wine made out of honey. I don't know what is doing here but I'll rate it anyway since I had taste it and is a very good honeywine. Actually it's one of the best mead on the market right now. Smooth and pleasent aroma but a strong flavor with a hint of spices and at the very end a little hint of honey. Real Ambrosia from Asgard!

Snifter at St Aidens Winery, Holy Island, Northumberland. Very pale yellow, no head. More like a sweet wine, honeyed, quite rich, sharp alcohol note and a salty, calcium hint. Not for me.

Sampled @ Southampton Arms, London. First mead ever. Appearence?? Hmm, quite hard to descri-be. Something like clear but slightly odd-colored water I would say. Weird anyway. Smells like some spirit or liquor. Pretty sweet, decent taste, soft as well. Little bit like white martini. Soft mouthfeel, soft carbo, medium body. Pretty nice.

75cl bottle. Pours a pale yellow colour. The nose is obviously honey. The taste is a bit more complex - honey, something earthy and maybe something pear-droppy. The palate is quite rich but since I’ve never had any other mead, I’m not sure what I’m measuring against. There is also good texture and it is fairly refreshing on the end. Overall, I enjoyed this but I don’t know how to compare it. Therefore, marks are mid-range to good
