Ungstrup (11378), Frederiksberg, Denmark Aug 26, 2005 An unclear light yellow beer with a small white head. The aroma is sweet and lightly wheaty. The flavor is slightly wheaty with slight notes of citrus and coriander - on a thin body. Not enough of anything to make an impression. Oakes (6979), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Sep 2, 2003 Cloudy pale yellow. Marshmallow malts, lemon/lime esters. (Of course the stuck a lime wedge in it so whether or not the beer itself has this limey character, it will when they serve it to you). Almost gingery spiciness with kaffir lime leaf, faint allspice, wonderbready malts. Seems underhopped. I like the cranberry version (Viking) so I really thought I'd be into this, but no, I'm not. Rastacouere (5409), Montréal, Quebec, Canada Jul 28, 2005 Very pale even for a wit. Cloudy. Light white head. Gingery and lemony nose, subtle yeast comes out tartish. Almost peppery yeastiness, spice oriented flavor profile, limited coriander and more obvious ginger. light bodied, airy carbonation. MartinT (4377), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Jul 5, 2002 I preferred the lime wedge with which it came… tiggmtl (4179), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Jul 17, 2005 Coriander, wheat and citrus in a clean and appealing introduction to this one. Opaque milky gold with low white head that recedes to ring. Strong wheat flavour with light, typical spices and citrus character. Medium-light body with moderate carbonation that doesn’t last throughout. Sampled at the brewpub with Oakes, Rastacouere and Ungstrup.
