3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tap (Moeder Lambic Fontainas, Brussels)
7 Lovely rich grainy aroma, some sweet malts with fleshy fruits too
4 mid-to-light orange, ring head
8 Gloriously malty taste, real malts like nibble samplers at breweries.
4+ Soft palate, carbonation low. Finish grainy. Hops hang around with a lovely dry resiny feel.
15 A malt lover’s dream. This is so grainy. This is beer.

18/12/2010 - 75cl bottle @ Gentse Biervereniging - Trappist night
Note: I know this is not a trappist, it was just a little appetizer for the early people.
Little cloudy, yellow to dark yellow beer, white creamy head, adhesive. Aroma: hoppy, dust, yeast, spices. Mf: soft carbon, medium body, really smooth creamy texture. Taste: hops, malts, yeast, hay. Aftertaste: dry hops, a hint of spices. Very nice and interesting saison!

[3332-20100810] Tap. Sweaty lemons and hoppy tree bark aroma. Hazy, brown orange body with a long-lasting creamy off-white head and some lacing. Grainy oatmeal cookie malt flavour has mild fruity apricot hints and a lingering citrus toast. Medium body is fairly alcoholic. Nice to sample.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
750 ml bottle (5,8% ABV). A hazy pale maber beer with a large, frothy, creamy, lacing, mostly lasting white head. The aroma is lightly malty, moderately hoppy, lightly to moderately yeasty. There are notes of cookies, grass, herbs, citrus, barnyard, basement, and spices. Ther flavour is moderately sweet, lightly to moderately sour, lightly bitter. Medium body, slick texture, lively carbonation, dry long finish with medium bitterness. Very good for a new brewery, attractive aroma, nice balance and clean. I definately want more.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Tap@DeliriumCafe. Cardamom aroma. Cloudy, yellow, off-white head, good lace. Light sweet, cardamom but neutral besides that, light bitter start, more bitter in the finish. Unbalanced, overdone with the cardamom.

4.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Very good saison , fruty and fresh . I was struck by its originality and "recklessness" is distinguished for courage and productive end result

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
2010-08-10. Golden body with a nice creamy white head and lace. Flavour is interesting, hoppy, I think the Goldings dominate with just a kiss of the Cascade. Lightly grassy, accents of green herbaceous character, very subtle citrus/grapefruit undertones, mild supportive malt. Grassy bitterness in the finish. Pleasant aroma, softly grassy, lightly floral hop profile. 7+ Smooth average bodied palate. 3+ Very well balanced and very drinkable. Just a touch more citrus would suit my own tastes more, but that was obviously not their intention. Very drinkable sessionable beer. On tap at CML Fontainas, Brussels

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Very good head, ochre-tinted over hazy orange beer with golden reflections. Spicy, dry hops to the fore. Definitely UK hops, very obvious (East Kent Goldings, apparently). Not un-malty, but malts play second role here. Spiced impression again in the mouth, but less hoppy. Now the bitterness seems to refer to wild hops, or even green hops. Point of acidity, and quite well balanced. Medium bodied, certain slickness. My co-taster doubts the ABV claimed, but I would have easily believed a tad more. It would appear that after the USA and even Anzac hops, now Belgian brewers start experimenting (again) with noble UK hops! Un grand merci à Jean H. pour la dégustation!
