on tap and barley works. light orangish golden with a white head that laces nicely. aroma of light sweet barley mash, slight c hop wiffs. pretty typical for this brewer. flavour is passable, fleeting hints of banana? moderate bitterness. not terrible as a beer but not even close to a APA

UPDATED: APR 17, 2011 draught pint from the Lion: puts a deep burnished gold clear ale in the glass with a sticky frothy white cap which lasts and laces well. Moderately carbonated.
Light fruit aromas and grassy hops over decent malty aromas
light on the palate - decent maris otter malt signature up front balanced with sharp hopping and fruity esters, a little toffee sweetness but only a touch.... fast clean dry and lightly bitter finish.
Good sessioning pale, tasty, clean, easy to drink a few - fresh boiler plate micro pale.

On tap at the brewpub. Taps a deepish amber with a small white head. The aroma is your basic worty malts with a hint of indistinct hops. Okay. Flavour is actually pretty decent. Loads of the typical malty grainy sweetness you get from everything this place offers, but with some nice hop flavour and presence. Good bitter bite followed by a dry aftertaste. Clean with no off-flavours and a crisp palate. I really enjoyed this one and am really glad they decided to make it.
