Dark golden colour. Head is white and disapates to a little bit of nothing. No real fancy lacing just tiny little bubbles that one by one go away. Aroma might be honey then again it might be malt. Flavour is sweet malty and clean. Palate is clean with nothing to syrupy. But there is a nagging cloying sweetness to this.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a darkish-but-not-really amber with a small white head. Aroma is the characteristic malty sweetness of this brewery. Flavour has some nice richness to it from the honey, which is not overly-sweet or cloying. Along with the worty grainy malt character in all of their beers. Crisp, fairly well carbonated palate that at times seemed a little rough. Not my favourite from this place but still pretty decent. Surprised I hadn’t tried it until now.

On tap at the brewpub, Copper color, with a creamy beige head, yeasty, fruity, honeyed, grainy toasted, pale, biscuity malt nose, with some hints of spongetoffee and cookie dough, with a faint honey coated apple note in the aroma follows through on a light-bodied palate with a smooth, yeasty, spicy, honeyed toasted, caramel malt character with a fruity flavour of ripe apples, leading towards a fruity, toasty, lingering hop bitterness finish.

Draught. Caramel candy, artificial honey and sweet malt are in the faint nose. Pours an amber color. Like their other beers its thin and a little watery. More hops then I would have expected in a honey brown. Not a good example of the style, like a generic with honey forced into it.

On tap at the brewpub. Looks nice - amber, good sized white head. Aroma of honey and some malt. Taste is right on style if Honey brown was a style - it is malty (for a lager) with lots of honey. Unfortunately, I’ve never found it a a particularly good combination in any beer. Light body. Ok at best, will not have it again.

Tap at the hotel- Pours an amber liquid. Head is thin and short lived, leaving no real lace. Malty nose, with grains and a bit of burnt sugars, followed by some cookie dough. Tastes of sweet honey (perhaps too much so) some cereal, burnt sugars and wood. A bit too sweet on the finish, but this is ok made and better than I expected.

[360-20070623] Tap @ Lion Restaurant (Waterloo, ON). Some yeast, some sweetness in the aroma. Clear, honey brown body with no lasting head. Honey-esque lager sweetness in the flavour has some yeast. Medium body. Not bad for a honey brown.

Tapped a light copper-amber color, smallish head leaves soon, leaves light lace on the glass. Aroma of grains, hay and a light whisp of honey...no sweet tones. Light body, slick mouth feel, fluid chracter. Strange flavor profile for a honey lager: You’re hit up front with caramel sweetness and can just taste the honey when a sourish woodsy tang kicks in as the abundent hops take over. Hops continue to dominate the flavor through to the quick clean finish where it turns softly bitter....a different honey beer to be sure, no flaws just too well hopped to enjoy the honey

One of the worst honey browns I have ever tasted. Tried it once thought it must be skunky, since I had heard good things. Tried it a second time a few months later, still terrible.

(Draught) Thin, white head with copper body. Tiny active bubbles. Burnt sugar nose with slight honey. Surprised that this is 5%? Tastes fuller and more complex - Impressive! Slight whiskey flavour... much like a scotch ale. Good.
