COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Lion Brown is a deep amber beer with a nutty, biscuity note. Its hoppy nose is balanced with a hint of sweetness which refreshes the palate.

I grew up on this beer ( I also grew up in NZ born and raised), and the last time I consumed a large quantity was when my boss won the lottery when it first started in NZ, I even owned a t-shirt, lion brown more of a beer, I wore that t-shirt day and night...sigh... what a beer it was, the times I spent with this beer, wow what a sweet memory! can anyone mail me some over by any chance?

Dark amber colour, white head that sank away to nothing in quick time. The nose is intriguing. You look at the bumf on the label and think: mainstream beer and hops? Pull the other one, it’s got bells on it. And while there isn’t a lot of hoppiness there, there’s a brief note. It relies mainly on the biscuity malt. Flavourwise, sweet, malty and not designed to challenge.

Wellington’s local beer and it’s nothing to be ashamed of. Aptly named, it is very brown indeed.

Probably the best draught beer Lion have ever produced. Just ask the sappers down at the RSA. It is unfortunate that not many pubs now have it on tap, because it was a good consistent pourer. It is crisp, pleasant nose, hoppy, without that chemical metallic taste, and had a natural taste. Still one of my favourite bottled draughts.

Consumed after a long long long day at one of my best mates stag do. Through the haze I can still remember the sickly sweet burnt caramal.

Clear bright amber body with a somewhat decent head. Dry resin and light caramel on the nose. Taste is sweet malt, caramel a little more to the front and just some balancing bitterness.

(Can 33 cl) Clear, amber golden with a dense, off-white head leaving some laces. Lightly sweet aroma of caramel. Medium body, a little malt and sweetish caramel and a whiff of metal. Dry finish with a light bitterness. Not the worst macro. 300108
