After a week of Red Stripe in the BVI, this tasted like nectar. Dark and creamy, hoppier than a regular stout and less astringent, sweet and smooth with a subtle bitterness.

Head is initially small, frothy, brown, mostly diminishing. Body is black. Aroma is moderately malty (molasses, roasted grain, chocolate, coffee). Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter, slightly husky. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Just a tad grainy in the finish but otherwise decent.

Vinuous, lightly syrupy, with great roasted aroma. Low carbonation with strong roasted & black malt character. Crisp finish with warming alcohol. Very British tasting.

Bottled. Syrup looking black with absolutely no head at all. Big, sweet, dark malt aromas that really filled the room. Sweet tasting with miles of roasted malt flavour. I also found it a very forward and a very giving beer, that finished with a smooth uncomplicated palate.

Pretty good (for a Jamaican Stout). I found this at a store in Jamaica and bought a six pack. It was good but not as good as Guiness or Sierra Nevada. My next time in Jamaica, I'll probably stick to Red Stripe or Real Rock - they both go down easier in the heat.
