4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 Wulfstan (509) - California, USA - SEP 5, 2008
This is a tasty, nicely balanced strong lager that is very smooth and easy to drink while maintaining good flavour and body throughout. Dark gold, it has a big, off-white head that slowly shrinks and leaves a little lace. The aroma has bread, grapes, raisins, fruit , vanilla and riesling. It’s sweet and fruity (esp. grapes), with fresh sweet bread/bakery character and with a spicey, zesty quality. A pleasant, mild hop character balances the malt.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 mgrafton (11) - Wichita, Kansas, USA - APR 10, 2012
This beer is kind of a sleeper hit in my opinion. I see the low ratings, but I think this is a beer worth trying. The color is pretty typical, golden-yellow straw with a head that dissipates quickly. The beer tastes very light, but the alcohol content says otherwise. It definitely has fruit notes, lemon and slight banana. The finish is sweet, but not overpowering. Would I buy this again? Yes. Is it worth trying? Absolutely. Are all the low ratings really a reflection of how this beer really tastes? I don’t think so.

Pours a bubbly golden hue. Very biscuity aroma with hints of caramel like sweetness. The flavor is slightly sweet with a nice earthy grainyness to it. The mouthfeel is a little watery, but the balance is dead on.

rich in flavor, many taste of grass, wheat, honey malt, earthy and lots of herbs, with a strong flavor but mellows out on the hops taste. quite smooth on the palate. works all the way around.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 SpudClampDawg (1029) - Jasper, Indiana, USA - OCT 2, 2008
12oz bottle marked as 8.8% ABV: Clear gold pour with a smallish head that dissipates. The aroma is malt forward with heavy notes of fresh dough, wet hay, wildflower honey. The body follows the same flow, lots of sweet malts. The ethery alcohol whispers in the background, hinting at this being a heavy hitter. Interesting style that is done well here.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Ibrew2or3 (4985) - Phoenix, Arizona, USA - JUN 14, 2009
Pours clear deep gold with 10 second white head. The aroma is sugar sweet malts mixing with apricots, pears, apples, a sense of dark grapes and faint chemical booze. The taste starts a tad sharp with the carbonation pushing notes of plums, apricots, apples and pears across the palate. Midway sugar sweet malts surface. The light colored fruitiness wanes into the finish as the mouthfeel dries out some. Decent enough stuff since it ended less sweet than it started.
3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20 foosnbrews (103) - Parker, Colorado, USA - JAN 30, 2010
Beer poor scopper with almost no head but a nice stream of bubbles. Aroma is nice but very subdued. Beer has an excellent clean tast with a bit of very slight bitterness balanced well with malt. Palate is great and in fact I was suprised to see the ABV upon rating the beer. Does not taste like an 8% beer. Overall the beer was very nice. I’d like to grab some for summer time, just watch out for how many you have.

Bottle. Poured clear golden color with a large white frothy head that was mostly lasting with excellent lacing. Moderate sweet grassy aroma. Medium body with soft carbonation. Medium bittersweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration with no alcohol bite.
