This is a tasty, nicely balanced strong lager that is very smooth and easy to drink while maintaining good flavour and body throughout. Dark gold, it has a big, off-white head that slowly shrinks and leaves a little lace. The aroma has bread, grapes, raisins, fruit , vanilla and riesling. It’s sweet and fruity (esp. grapes), with fresh sweet bread/bakery character and with a spicey, zesty quality. A pleasant, mild hop character balances the malt.

This beer is kind of a sleeper hit in my opinion. I see the low ratings, but I think this is a beer worth trying. The color is pretty typical, golden-yellow straw with a head that dissipates quickly. The beer tastes very light, but the alcohol content says otherwise. It definitely has fruit notes, lemon and slight banana. The finish is sweet, but not overpowering. Would I buy this again? Yes. Is it worth trying? Absolutely. Are all the low ratings really a reflection of how this beer really tastes? I donít think so.

Patrickctenchi (3671) - Coxís Knob, columbus, Indiana, USA - APR 9, 2014
Bottle: (labeled as 8.8 %) Pours nearly clear, pale gold with a creamy white head. Slightly sour white grape, grain malt aroma. Lemon, honey, pils taste.....very sweet.. This is really VERY good...seriously....... I hope this is the right rate, the Lion Strong clocks in at 8.8, but the labeling indicates this one...both are SPL/IPís...well, it was a great little beer, Iíll take an admin slap for it if Iím wrong!

Pours a bubbly golden hue. Very biscuity aroma with hints of caramel like sweetness. The flavor is slightly sweet with a nice earthy grainyness to it. The mouthfeel is a little watery, but the balance is dead on.

Not much head, golden color and the aroma of fruits. Tasted like Grapefruit and flowers. Good beer.

rich in flavor, many taste of grass, wheat, honey malt, earthy and lots of herbs, with a strong flavor but mellows out on the hops taste. quite smooth on the palate. works all the way around.

Bottle. Cream. herbal lemon, and barley malt aroma. Golden yellow with small head. Sweet lemon, milky caramel malt and mildly bitter herbal and alcohol flavor. Not bad.

12oz bottle marked as 8.8% ABV: Clear gold pour with a smallish head that dissipates. The aroma is malt forward with heavy notes of fresh dough, wet hay, wildflower honey. The body follows the same flow, lots of sweet malts. The ethery alcohol whispers in the background, hinting at this being a heavy hitter. Interesting style that is done well here.

Ibrew2or3 (6910) - Tempe, Arizona, USA - JUN 14, 2009
Pours clear deep gold with 10 second white head. The aroma is sugar sweet malts mixing with apricots, pears, apples, a sense of dark grapes and faint chemical booze. The taste starts a tad sharp with the carbonation pushing notes of plums, apricots, apples and pears across the palate. Midway sugar sweet malts surface. The light colored fruitiness wanes into the finish as the mouthfeel dries out some. Decent enough stuff since it ended less sweet than it started.
