Bottle, 4.8 %. Old gold coloured with a slim white head. Aroma has some sweet malts, fruit and hops. Clean, crisp and refreshing, not too much going on in the taste department, light sweetness and a spicey bitter finish. Light bodied. Quite enjoyed it.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 ClarkVV (3578) - Allston, Massachusetts, USA - AUG 19, 2005
2005 lion lager, big bottle, consumed 8/13/2005. Smells of fresh, lemony, grassy hops. Gold and a slight tinge of copper. Huge bubbles create a small, bubbly white head, not long retained, no lacing. Some lager yeast in the nose, lightly crisp. Starts with soft hops and corn-like flavors. Somewhat powdery and dry. Pretty bland to start. Some crisp lager yeast on the end, and the hops seem to cut some of the corniness. Not watery, but very overcarbonated. Some bread and crackers as it warms, maybe pretzel dough, if you will. Very clean as it breathes and on the finish. Corniness seems to pass quickly. Perhaps my bottle is a little stale? Better fresh, no doubt. Moderate to poor head retention. In the end, very forgettable and not nearly as refreshing as I had hoped for, but I do like that you can taste some hops. Decent stuff, suffers from the filtration, but that’s a pale lager, I guess. Funny that I prefer it warm.

Golden amber color with a small diminishing off white head. Light fruity aroma. Flavor starts lightly sweet followed by a peppey hop bite. It has a tangy finish with a medium thin palate. A suprisingly pleasant lager.

Gold. Earth, hay, herbs, weeds, light grain, skunk and moderate fruit in the nose, though it’s all very subtle. Husky and grainy malts, heavy bitterness-weedy, floral hops. Eck.

2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 winkle (456) - Brisbane, AUSTRALIA - JUN 4, 2005
Bottle. Being traded around these parts as Sinha Lager, presumable to suck people like me in because I liked the stout. Hey , it worked. Medium to light industrial lager aroma. Quite thin body, watery palate. Nothing great about this, just boringly inoffensive.
