Bottle from an Indian grocer in Wembley. Expectations were low. Surprisingly deep golden colour, this was a relatively malty tropical lager, had some (if not enough) hop. Went quite well with my curry. It’s a dull lager but this sample avoided any nasties and was refreshing enough.

625ml bottle from a Sri Lankan grocery store in Dortmund. Grainy fresh with malty grainy intense body. Quite full in aroma, but grainy and malty with not too much depth. Malty grainy and neutral-bitter aftertaste.

Surprisingly tasty and much better than expected. The body is malty with a slight touch of oily flavors and the aftertaste is fresh and crisp.

From bottle in Weligama, SL. Smells hoppy, maybe grassy. Yellow-amber color with a thick white-off white head. Pretty sweet for a lager with a hint of bitterness that isn’t overwhelming. Overall, the palate is pretty bland. Nothing particularly interesting but standard for a developing world lager.

Had several while in Sri Lanka. Pale golden with a fairly big white head. Notes of bread and yeast in the aroma. Medium sweetness and bitterness. Nothing special ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into a pint glass at the World of Beer in Cary, NC. This beer is a clear golden color with a fairly large white head. The aroma has a slight citrus smell with some grass and hops tossed in. The flavor is full of malt with some hops. Overall, a decent beer. I believe this is the first beer I have had from Sri Lanka.

330ml bottle. Pale golden colour, white head. Light aroma of malts, grassy hops. Taste is moderately sweet, with a light bitterness in the finish, which was rather dry. Average lager, nothing special here.

The aroma offers only weak malt notes and the taste is also somewhat tame it. Malt sweetness is a little high for the type, and the lack of really hoppy bitterness makes it a lager in the sweet end of the scale.

50cl Can, thanks for bringing this Thijs! 4.8% ABV. Clear golden colour, white head. Aroma is sweet, paper, light malty, honey, trace of hops. Flavour of paper, light malty, hay, honey, sweet, light bitter finish. Light bodied. OK lager, but far from good.
