Little or no head; yellow-golden beer. Dull malts, chalk, faint lemonbalm. Rather bitterish initial taste, but immediately going into watery flavour & MF, only enlivened by some carbonation. Fizzy-ish, watery. Less than average lager. I wonder what hails some importers. They offer this ultra-bland lager from Lion Brewery, but no way to get the Stout.
Potassium metabisulfite????

33cl bottle only 49p, over the best before date. Decent white head. Slightly hazy golden pour. An ok lager.

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines, Pershore Road, Birmingham. Bottle was best before March 2012 but not consumed (or indeed purchased) until May. Looks flat and uninteresting - a clear amber, very little carbonation and just a thin halo of bubbles instead of a head. Metallic hops aroma, slightly sweetened and yeasty. Mouthfeel isn’t bad - just the right amount of fizz on the tongue. The taste lets it down, though - slight bitterness which is initially quite pleasant but with an unappetising vegetable aftertaste and a very short finish. Not great but I’m sure that if I had drunk it before the best before date it would have rivalled Westvleteren.

Bottle. Clear gold pour, rapidly fading white head. Aroma is sweet, very grainy, hint of honey. Taste is sweet, no hop flavor, grain, honey finish. Palate is light and well carbed. Nice clean refreshing pale lager, nothing worth revisiting though.

Lager isn’t my thing but this one had the comparative advantages of both low carbonation and a soft palate, so reasonably bearable. The only reason I drank so much of it however was because so few bars/hotels in its home country offer the same brewery’s excellent stout.

Crystal clear pale gold. Skunky noble hops, pale lager malt sweetness. Fairly clean lager malts, a bit of odd fruitiness/apple towards the end with even hop bitterness. Not the worst thing ever.

Pale yellow with a small head. Not too gassy for a lager. Slight malty aroma. Light malty flavour.
