Lion Lager (Sri Lanka)

Serve in Dimpled mug, English pint, Lager glass, Shaker

330ml bottle as "Sinha lager" with 4.8% ABV. Pours clear gold with a medium dense white head that reduces to a persistent collar of foam. Nose is grainy sweet malts with a faint hint of citrus fruits (orange mainly). Tastes like a standard bland macro Asian lager with a sweet honey malt base and light bitterness. Light bodied with a slick mouthfeel and lively carbonation. These beers are only really any good when accompanying spicy Asian/Indian foods in a tropical climate. Otherwise pass.

Pale golden pour light white head sweet rice and grassy aroma.... Taste of rice grassy malt medium bodied not bad if you like a sweet tasting lager

Had this a few years ago but could not find it under this alias. So this is all on a recollection that it was crap. Sugar lager with little to comment it.

Bomber bottle. Pours golden with thin white head. Standard lager taste and aroma. Best extremely cold.

UPDATED: AUG 4, 2010 Bottle.Pours a light amber body with small to no head. The aroma is honey and sweet malt.. The taste is same, good refreshing, sessionable pale lager.

No real aroma, served chilled at a Sri Lankan restaurant. Taste is fruity, a little hoppy, not much else.

Bottled. Deep golden colour, white fluffy mediumsized head, that quickly settles into a small firm head. Aroma is grains, some mild rubbery and metallic notes. Flavour is sweetish malts, some mild rubbery notes.

Pour from a 22 oz bottle. Deep golden color with big, puffy, and lingering white head. Weak aroma of grain with sour and metallic overtones. Light flavor dominated by weak grains at the start with a mild hops, again with sour and metallic notes. Refreshing but lacking in zest.
