2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
A pretty plain beer. Doesn’t have a whole lot of taste going on but it is decently smooth and refreshing. This beer is easy to drink and goes down nice but if you are looking for flavor look elsewhere.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle on the Black Country Train Tasting Part I. Pours perfectly clear yellow with a light, creamy white head. Simple stuff: sugary dough, light straw, mellow bitterness, cereal. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Sweet dough and cereal on the finish. As pale lagers go, this is fine.

Draft at Heavens Pizza. Ugh ... lives up (or down) to all the bad stereotypes for American macro beers ... clear and pale yellow, no head, flat corny aroma and flavors. No redeeming qualities (but nothing technically wrong either). (#5198, 8/15/2013)

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle @ The Train Tasting, Pt I. Light golden pour with a small white head. The nose is honey, a bit of paper. Some white bread. Fairly neutral on the olfactory nerves. The taste is honeyed pear. Golden syrup. Sings of mild oxidization. Clean finish. Light body, fine carbonation. Overall, inoffensive stuff. Not bad for the style.

Ok as the pale lager world goes - it won the showdown for me over Leightons beloved Utica Club! Just !

2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
First train beer of RB Black Country Beer Bus Bash; pale pour white head, malty aroma very much your generic pale lager, I could get verbose about this but I’d prefer to hear about the Virgin Train toilets.

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
THOUGHTS: Not a style I care for much, but amazed how much better it is than a macro version.
TECHNICAL: Can. Poured a sparkling, light to medium yellow with nice carbonation and a very small, white head that fully diminished. The aroma had moderate bread, pale malt, cracker and biscuit; light hops; and slight corn. The initial flavor was slightly sweet, acidic and bitter; while the finish was lightly sweet and bitter, and slightly sour. There was pale malt, a little corn, a little cracker, white bread, biscuit, light sour malt and a slight hint of hops. The light to medium body was watery and then a little dry with fizzy carbonation and slightly metallic finish.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Clear golden color with a small white head. Aroma of stale grains, possibly stale hops too, citric, and corn. Taste of light toastiness, sweeter malts, bland, but not really offensive.
