A college favorite, Lionshead carries the traditional lion symbol painted on the outside of The Brewery since the early days of brewing in Wilkes-Barre. It is a crisp, clean, easy drinking American lager-pilsner style beer made with the finest American malts, corn, and hops.

THOUGHTS: Not a style I care for much, but amazed how much better it is than a macro version. TECHNICAL: Can. Poured a sparkling, light to medium yellow with nice carbonation and a very small, white head that fully diminished. The aroma had moderate bread, pale malt, cracker and biscuit; light hops; and slight corn. The initial flavor was slightly sweet, acidic and bitter; while the finish was lightly sweet and bitter, and slightly sour. There was pale malt, a little corn, a little cracker, white bread, biscuit, light sour malt and a slight hint of hops. The light to medium body was watery and then a little dry with fizzy carbonation and slightly metallic finish.

Clear golden body, medium sized fizzy white head that quickly dissipates, leaving behind nearly no sign of lace. Nose shows florals, light citrus, and grainy cereal and cracker. Flavor is similar with that typical macro pale-lager corny character. Medium to light bodied, lively carbontion, light sweetness, macro-metallic finish.

Draft. Clear pale yellow color, champagne bubbles. Aroma of peppery straw and paper. Taste is wet paper, straw.

Bottle rating from backlog notes. Pours a clear pale yellow color with a small white head. The aroma and flavor have grainy, corn malts, grass, pretty much macro mass produced taste, purely a tick.

Transfer from BA review on 8-31-13- Poured from bottle into a pint glass Appearance – The beer pours a deeper straw, light amber color with a billowy two finger pure white head. The head fades rather slowly over time, leaving only a very nice level of supper foamy lace on the sides of the glass. Smell – The aroma is lighter overall, but consists of a slightly bready and corny smell. There is a bit of a caramel aroma mixed with some notes of a light fruit and musty aroma as well. Taste – The taste begins with flavors of some caramel sweetness, a bit of breadiness mixed with a decent amount of a corny sweet flavor. As the flavor advances some lighter fruit flavors come to the tongue along with a bit of a musty grain and papery taste as well. There flavors take the taste to its end, leaving a somewhat musty grain and sweeter taste to linger on the tongue. Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the average to slightly lighter side in terms of thickness and creaminess with a carbonation level that is on the average side. The feel is quite appropriate for the style and makes for an easy drinking brew. Overall – Nothing fantastic, but for the price and as a session beer it is a good go to on any occasion when drinking is more a background activity.

I’ve been living out in North East Pa, so I’ve been drinking quite a few of these. Drank from the bottle. Aroma of generic beer, a lot of carbonation. Not a bad alternative to the world of light beers. Plus I feel more like a Rasta when drinking it!

Pours a light yellow with heavy carbonation. Has a faint aroma of malt. Taste is watered down malt and light fruit taste. The kegs usually taste a little like a burnt cigarette to me.

Had to try one these "Cheap" lagers from the east, a favorite among the local college populace. Faint grain aroma and taste, bland palate and finish. Typical pale lager.

Decent drinking all night beer. Goes down smooth. Is really cheap. Nothing special, but has ancient hieroglyphics under the cap.

For a cheap beer its not to bad. Great for alcoholics on a budget and college kids. Look for the riddles under the bottle caps.

Can. Subdued beer/hops aroma, average carbonation. Very faint hop flavors. Innocuous, but also mostly flavorless. Would not drink again.
