Maybe I just donít like the style, but this beer did absolutely nothing for me. Fizzy head that dissipates very quickly. Ah well. Cool label.

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Itís hard to believe that breweries other than the major macro conglomerates still put out adjunct-ridden cheap pale lagers. Thereís really no reason for them anymore Ė everyone like craft beer now and these type of beers pretty much all taste the same. Whatís the point of a brew like Lionshead Deluxe Pilsner Beer? If it were actually flavorful itíd be a different story, but this is actually rather foul-tasting.
I poured a 12oz bottle into a pilsner glass. It was bottled on 11/12/15 and cost only $1.29 ($0.11 per ounce).
Appearance: Dark gold color with a clear body. Plenty of consistent carbonation visible. Pours to a small, white, foamy head which retains and laces remotely well.
Smell: Familiar cheap adjunct lager aroma of corn and stale grain. A slight sweetness, but not enough to save it.
Taste: Knowing what I do about beer, Iíve reached a point where Iím actually surprised when a beer tastes bad and not from brewing flaws like diacetyl, dimethyl sulfide or acetaldehyde. A beer like this is deliberately designed to taste this way Ė why? Itís just a mildly sweet malty slurry flavor with a noticeable corn water taste (maybe it is DMS after all). No metallic character, though I notice a tanginess on the finish and a bit of a bile-like flavor right as it goes down. To be fair, there is a faint amount of sweetness here, but itís not enough to salvage the rest of the palette. Perhaps if it were fresh (and Iíll readily admit this bottle is rather old), it might make a difference; but for now this is just plain bad. Ick.
Drinkability: Despite the name, Lionshead Deluxe Pilsner Beer is most definitely not a pilsner by any standard definition due to the use (and overt nature) of corn. At least it has the body and mouthfeel of a pilsner, though. Thin, light body with a watery texture. Though always bubbly, itís not spastic per se. There is a slight starchy flavor that lingers, but itís easily overlooked. At only 4.5% ABV this would be a refreshing, sessionable brew if it actually had any real taste to it.

2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Clear golden body, medium sized fizzy white head that quickly dissipates, leaving behind nearly no sign of lace. Nose shows florals, light citrus, and grainy cereal and cracker. Flavor is similar with that typical macro pale-lager corny character. Medium to light bodied, lively carbontion, light sweetness, macro-metallic finish.

1.6 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
Bottle rating from backlog notes. Pours a clear pale yellow color with a small white head. The aroma and flavor have grainy, corn malts, grass, pretty much macro mass produced taste, purely a tick.

Poured from bottle into a pint glass
Appearance Ė The beer pours a deeper straw, light amber color with a billowy two finger pure white head. The head fades rather slowly over time, leaving only a very nice level of supper foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell Ė The aroma is lighter overall, but consists of a slightly bready and corny smell. There is a bit of a caramel aroma mixed with some notes of a light fruit and musty aroma as well.
Taste Ė The taste begins with flavors of some caramel sweetness, a bit of breadiness mixed with a decent amount of a corny sweet flavor. As the flavor advances some lighter fruit flavors come to the tongue along with a bit of a musty grain and papery taste as well. There flavors take the taste to its end, leaving a somewhat musty grain and sweeter taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel Ė The body of the beer is on the average to slightly lighter side in terms of thickness and creaminess with a carbonation level that is on the average side. The feel is quite appropriate for the style and makes for an easy drinking brew.
Overall Ė Nothing fantastic, but for the price and as a session beer it is a good go to on any occasion when drinking is more a background activity.

Iíve been living out in North East Pa, so Iíve been drinking quite a few of these. Drank from the bottle. Aroma of generic beer, a lot of carbonation. Not a bad alternative to the world of light beers. Plus I feel more like a Rasta when drinking it!

Pours a light yellow with heavy carbonation. Has a faint aroma of malt. Taste is watered down malt and light fruit taste. The kegs usually taste a little like a burnt cigarette to me.

Had to try one these "Cheap" lagers from the east, a favorite among the local college populace. Faint grain aroma and taste, bland palate and finish. Typical pale lager.

Decent drinking all night beer. Goes down smooth. Is really cheap. Nothing special, but has ancient hieroglyphics under the cap.
