Pawola22 (676), Kansas City, Missouri, USA Mar 12, 2009 Sampler at the brewpub. Pours a very light and pale, see-through starchy yellow body with a small head, but tons of foamy, white lacing that does not go away. Doesn’t really look like a wheat. Way too clear and the foamy head is throwing me off. Aroma is very faint wheat, but actually smells more like a pale malt backing. Just a hint of citrus and floral hops resembling those of the pale ale. Flavor is very similar. A bit of wheat maltiness, but it really tastes like a malty pale ale. Just a nip of hop spice on the tongue as this goes down. Pale malty linger. Palate is medium and crisp. Overall, not a big fan of this one. Blah. gws57 (1131), Saint Charles, Illinois, USA Aug 17, 2008 Had this one on draught at the brewpub in Hays, Kansas. Hazy, light yellow pour with a thick white head, milky and citrusy, meh. BlackDonald (1127), Boise, Idaho, USA Jul 30, 2008 Clear and lightly golden in color, reminiscent of a krystallweizen. Faint wheaty aroma, and nit a lot of spice, but more of a floral hop nose. Bland and boring on the palate with a light hint of banana. skoisirius (570), Seattle, Washington, USA Jul 12, 2008 Not a big American Wheat fan. See through golden pee color, no head. Some funk on the aroma like the Pale (hops?). Super wheaty watert flavor with a bit of a decent hop finish. Fairly crisp. Boring, not for me. mtoast (290), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 21, 2007 Pretty much standard brewpub style filtered wheat beer, bit too light for my tastes, little bit of cascade hop bitterness, very little bit. SledgeJr (2957), Omaha, Nebraska, USA May 26, 2007 On tap at the Parkville Microbrew Festival. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this brewer. Pours a bright yellow color with a thin white head. Not much to look at, but whoo-boy that’s a solid and drinkable wheat beer. Clean, crisp, big wheat flavor that finishes quickly. A good beer. jhumphries69 (718), Tyrone, Georgia, USA Nov 13, 2006 Updated: Mar 13, 2007The beer pours very pale straw with a white head. The aroma is almost nil - some wheat in there. The flavor is very light. There is definitely a lot of wheat flavor, but there are no other strong flavors - not very interesting, but not offensive either. The finish is a little dry and light-bodied. PhillyBeer2112 (2084), Orange Park, Florida, USA Oct 23, 2006 Updated: Mar 10, 2007I sure wish they would’ve picked some better beers to bring to the Midwest beerfest! MWBF 2006: Very lemony in the aroma but not much else, generally plain. Zesty and lemony with a touch of mint. Only slightly above average. Yellow color. Update: unchanged reaction based on sample at brewpub.
