Reviewed from notes. On tap at the brewpub in August 2009.
Pours a slightly hazed yellow color with a hint of apricot. White head falls very quickly wihout leaing anything in its wake. Nose is quite plain as well. Just a bit of light grain and the faintest of fruit. Taste is all grain. Hard to describe as there isn’t much there. Much like many of their other beers, it seems like this is brewed quite well but the recipe just needs to add a bit of complexity.

Tap at Lb. Pours clear gold with a small, fizzy white head, medium retention with good lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (bread, grainy, hay, straw), light hops (woody), and light esters (citrus). Flavor is heavy malt (bread, straw), light hops (citrus, spicy), and light esters (banana, citrus) with notes of corn. Light body, low warmth and creaminess, high carbonation and a dry finish.
2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 theisti (2441) - Leawood, Kansas, USA - AUG 5, 2010
Approximately 4 oz sample at the brewpub in Hays, Kansas. Pour is almost clear (hints of haze) golden, with a smallish white head. Aroma has some light wheat, hint of lemon citrus behind that - faint nose. Taste is grainy wheat, turning to some dirtiness in the middle followed by diacetyl through to the finish. Aftertaste adds some lemon citrus to the diacetyl. Palate is medium, mouth coating, as mentioned aftertaste lingers with the diacetyl.

Sampler at the brewpub. Pours a very light and pale, see-through starchy yellow body with a small head, but tons of foamy, white lacing that does not go away. Doesn’t really look like a wheat. Way too clear and the foamy head is throwing me off. Aroma is very faint wheat, but actually smells more like a pale malt backing. Just a hint of citrus and floral hops resembling those of the pale ale. Flavor is very similar. A bit of wheat maltiness, but it really tastes like a malty pale ale. Just a nip of hop spice on the tongue as this goes down. Pale malty linger. Palate is medium and crisp. Overall, not a big fan of this one. Blah.

Had this one on draught at the brewpub in Hays, Kansas. Hazy, light yellow pour with a thick white head, milky and citrusy, meh.

Clear and lightly golden in color, reminiscent of a krystallweizen. Faint wheaty aroma, and nit a lot of spice, but more of a floral hop nose. Bland and boring on the palate with a light hint of banana.
