nickd717 (1276), Palo Alto, California, USA Oct 1, 2009 GABF 2009. Nice bright clear copper color with a medium lasting white head. Looks nice, but then falls a bit flat. Aroma is caramel and mild citrus hops. Flavor is pretty unexciting and devoid of the hop punch I expect, with caramel malt and some muted pine/citrus hops. Palate dry and crisp with medium body. Overall a bit disappointing after having their oatmeal stout, which was great. Pawola22 (676), Kansas City, Missouri, USA Mar 12, 2009 Sampler at the brewpub. Pours a see-through light golden body with a thin, quickly dissipating, white head that leaves a good amount of lacing. Aroma is sugary citrus hops and sweet caramel malts. Flavor is quite sweet. Good amount of light caramels and a resiny, honey, sweet citrus, light piney hop bite that finishes dry and lingers for a decent amount of time. Palate is light to medium bodied and clean. Overall, a nice IPA. Maybe a little too sugary, but a good amount of fresh and juicy hops make this very enjoyable. Biergeliebter (6), Kansas City, Missouri, USA does not count Feb 23, 2009 Nice color, grass and citrus aroma. Nice white head didn’t last long (but the growler was a few days old). Nice flavor that’s perfectly piney. Harsebrau (164), Kansas City, Missouri, USA Feb 23, 2009 Gift from Craig. A tasty IPA. Good color of rolling oat and light browns. White head that did not last long....but most likely due to the Growler being a few days old. Aroma of grass and citrus. Flavor that was tight and piney. Good beer from way West Kansas. Thanks Craig! beastiefan2k (1590), Lawrence (formely NYC), Kansas, USA Oct 13, 2008 Sampler @ brewpub. Clear copper color with a sticky lacing. Head never fully fades. Aroma is light sweet fruit punch hops. Taste is a mish mash of sticky sweet hops and sweet malts. Some bitterness mixed up in there as well.. Its fine as a standard IPA goes. gws57 (1131), Saint Charles, Illinois, USA Aug 17, 2008 Had this one on draught at the brewpub in Hays, Kansas. Clear, amber pour with a thick off white head, balanced flavor especially for an IPA, pear, maple syrup and rosiness, very good but a bit unusual for the style! BlackDonald (1127), Boise, Idaho, USA Jul 30, 2008 This is a really simple IPA that is on the lighter side. The hop nose smelles really fresh and lcean with some citrus and pine notes, light toffee maltiness with a bitter resiny finish that ligners for quite a while. Decent and drinkable. skoisirius (570), Seattle, Washington, USA Jul 12, 2008 Being a NW trooper, IPA’s have a lot to stand up to. We have here a light golden brown color, not much retention. Sweet flowery aroma. Hop profile is definitely present over the malt, but not overbearing like I’m used to. VERY resiny...especially through the finish...which is nice. Enjoyable...but could use a bit of OOMPH.
