COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This potent brew bursts with intense hop flavor and bitterness. Assertive, crisp and dry, it pairs well with bolder foods.

Very nice. It was a seasonal but the server told me that it was popular enough to make it part of the regular line up. Featured a nice piney hop aroma to start. Flavor was light, was a mild resiny hop. Malts were light but sweet and bready. Finish only mildly bitter. Faded copper color with nice lacing.

Reviewed from notes. On tap at the brewpub in August 2009. Pours a clear golden color with a two-finger white head. While the head is initially pretty decent off the pour, it falls pretty quickly and doesn’t leave any lace behind. The nose is some fain citrus along with a bit of pale malt. Taste is very light bitterness and extra light hops along with some generic bready malt. Medium body without any real indication as to the style. Drinkability is fine I suppose, but it’s not what I’m looking for out of a beer of this style. Serving type: on-tap Reviewed on: 11-12-2010

On tap @ Liquid Bread. Transparent, burnt orange appearance with an off white head. Slightly earthy, slightly citrusy hoppy nose. Flavor has a pretty big pale to amber malty taste with more piney hoppy flavor with a touch of earthiness. Not bad but not good.

Tap at Lb. Pours clear amber with a small, fizzy white head, low retention and flat lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (caramel, toasted), heavy hops (floral, pine, citrus), and light esters (apple/pear). Flavor is heavy malt (caramel, toasted), heavy hops (floral, pine, citrus), and light esters (apple/pear) with notes of peach. Medium body and carbonation, low warmth and creaminess with a dry and biting finish.

Approximately 4 oz sample at the brewpub in Hays, Kansas. Pour is orange golden with nice lacing as the beer falls down. Aroma of not too much, some resin some pine, perhaps a touch of toasty malt. Taste picks up a bit from the nose, nice balance between toasted mildly sweet malt and resinous pine earthy bitter hops. Palate is medium, bright carbonation, along with the great dry mineral finish that most of these Liquid Bread beers.

GABF 2009. Nice bright clear copper color with a medium lasting white head. Looks nice, but then falls a bit flat. Aroma is caramel and mild citrus hops. Flavor is pretty unexciting and devoid of the hop punch I expect, with caramel malt and some muted pine/citrus hops. Palate dry and crisp with medium body. Overall a bit disappointing after having their oatmeal stout, which was great.

Sampler at the brewpub. Pours a see-through light golden body with a thin, quickly dissipating, white head that leaves a good amount of lacing. Aroma is sugary citrus hops and sweet caramel malts. Flavor is quite sweet. Good amount of light caramels and a resiny, honey, sweet citrus, light piney hop bite that finishes dry and lingers for a decent amount of time. Palate is light to medium bodied and clean. Overall, a nice IPA. Maybe a little too sugary, but a good amount of fresh and juicy hops make this very enjoyable.
