Great dark color with wonderful tan head. Not much lacing, as the growler was a few days old. Sweet aroma; chocolate and coffee. Flavor is nice and smokey, but surprisingly dry. Can’t wait to have it fresh from the tap.

Chocolatey roast aroma. Black in color with off-white head. Tastey roasty, smooth with slight chocolate notes...a great oatmeal stout.

Sampled at GABF 2011. Dark brown pour with a light brown head. Aroma of roasted espresso and smoky malts. Decent coffee and chocolate flavor. Good overall.

Pours a very dark brown color, appearing black unless it’s held up to the light. The tan head has pretty good retention, but doesn’t stick around for all that long. Nose is roasted malt, chocolate, coffee, and a bit of light toffee and caramel. Really nice and complex. The taste is pretty nice with some roast and coffee plus chocolate. The mouthfeel is what really helps the taste out; nice and creamy. Overall, by far their best beer and one that I enjoyed quite a bit.

Growler poured a clear dark brown with a small lingering tan head. Aromas of coffee, roasted malt and dark chocolate. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of coffee, dark chocolate, roasted malt and a hint of licorice with a smooth lingering chocolate finish.

On tap @ Liquid Bread. Very dark brown appearance with a cream colored head. Very roasty dark malty nose with a hint of espresso. Roasted, slightly burnt dark malty stout flavor with hints of chocolate and espresso. Roasty, dark malty aftertaste. My favorite at Lb. so far.

Tap at Lb. Pours clear dark brown with a small, fizzy beige head, low retention and flat lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (cookie, caramel, chocolate, toasted), light hops (woody), and light esters (dried fruit). Flavor is heavy malt (cookie, caramel, chocolate, toasted), light hops (woody), and light esters (dried fruit) with notes of dates. Medium body, carbonation, and creaminess, low warmth and a medium sweet finish.
