Pawola22 (676), Kansas City, Missouri, USA Mar 12, 2009 Sampler at brewpup. Pours a clear golden body with a thin, white head that leaves a light ring of lacing. Aroma is big and full of caramels with a noticeable, but soft amount of fresh citrus hops. Flavor is pretty nice for a simple pale ale. Lots of toffee malts and a small amount of earthy, citrus, sweet hops that lead into a somewhat dry finish and a nice lingering grassy bitterness. Palate is full and smooth. Overall, an easy drinking and quite enjoyable APA. beastiefan2k (1590), Lawrence (formely NYC), Kansas, USA Oct 13, 2008 Sampler @ brewpub. color is clear dark straw. Has a lightly sticky lacing. Aroma is brightly hopped and fresh. The hops are pleasantly earthy mixed with some light hop sweetness. Hops come of as American. Taste is similar, hops coming through but not aggressively. Goes down like nothing, easy, very quaffable. gws57 (1131), Saint Charles, Illinois, USA Aug 17, 2008 Had this one on draught at the brewpub in Hays, Kansas. Medium golden color with a thin white head, doesn’t look like much, very nice and balanced APA with some apple, chardonnay and flowery hops. A great example. BlackDonald (1127), Boise, Idaho, USA Jul 30, 2008 A decent well structured take on the style. Cascade hoppiness, with a solid caramel malt background. Simple, but tasty with a lignering bitter finish. skoisirius (570), Seattle, Washington, USA Jul 12, 2008 On tap at brewery. Very light golden see through. Mild malt and somewhat funk aroma. Flavor is mild with a nice balance between the malt and hop profiles which are both fairly minor. Nice lingering mild finish. Buttery and smooth. Decent. PhillyBeer2112 (2084), Orange Park, Florida, USA Mar 10, 2007 Golden yellow. Mild grassy hops. Flavor definitely balanced between a light cookieish malt and a zing of grassy/herbal hops. Lightly bittered, even finish. A good session. jhumphries69 (718), Tyrone, Georgia, USA Nov 13, 2006 Pours a pale gold with a white head - much lighter than I expected for the style. The aroma is nice - citrus hops (cascades). But it is muted. The flavors are also somewhat muted - good malt backbone, bitter hops, and excellent aroma of fresh hops. But a touch watered down. The mouthfeel is a bit light. harlequinn (2745), Tacoma, Washington, USA Jul 27, 2006 A delightfully tasty and refreshing pale ale. A fresh floral hop aroma, mixed with slightly swet brown sugar notes. A light bit of citrus and grapefruit, with some slightly bittersweet caramel maltiness. Really well done, soft and creamy on the palate and never overpowering.
