rmussman (684), California, USA Jul 8, 2008 Sampled a 22. Pretty nice brew, had a very citrus flavor and light hoppiness. A unique beer for sure and well worth a try if you get the chance. Skyview (2641), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA Jun 14, 2008 From a 22-oz bomber and shared by BDR, pours a clear copper amber brew with a thick and lumpy off-white head that has some excellent lacing. Aroma of citrus and piney hops, some light Belgian yeast, caramel and a touch of dark pitted fruits. Taste is medium to full bodied, light carbonation with flavors of hoppy and vegetable hop character, light caramel malt, some herbal spice and a touch of fruit. Finish has a mild metallic aftertaste, semi-dry with a lingering grapefruit hop aftertaste. BlackMail (46), Evergreen, Colorado, USA May 30, 2008 Purchased this bottled beer at Liquor Mart. Expecting a belgian ale, the beer tasted more hoppy than I expected. Nice head, color and taste. Ernest (4177), Boulder, Colorado, USA May 13, 2008 Bottle.
Head is initially average sized, frothy, off-white, mostly lasting.
Body is clear medium amber.
Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (cookie, caramel), moderately to heavily hoppy (resin), with a light note of alcohol, hints of sage and ash.
Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly to moderately bitter.
Finish is lightly sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, moderately to heavily bitter.
Medium to full body, velvety texture, lively carbonation, lightly alcoholic.
An American-styled hop bomb with nothing remotely Belgian about it to my senses, but an ok quaffing APA/IPA if you like the green/American hop aroma. Not my thing at all, but hop lovers will probably dig it.
