3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 16/20
22oz bomb found at Krogers! Yes, Krogers in Blue Ash had this for some reason. This budget buster has a lot of bourbon flavor up front! And back! Bourbon will linger on your tongue. Spice, vanilla? Sure, but relegated to the background. Enjoyable, but thin. Would never re-buy at $12, but glad I tried something so unique and local.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
22 oz. bottle via local trade. Thanks, Roger! Pours a clear mahogany with a small ring for a head. The aroma has a ton of cinnamon, with some vanilla, brown sugar, dried fruit, pepper, and very dry grains. Flavor of cinnamon, caramel, dates, oak, and pepper. Light-medium bodied, with moderate carbonation and a dry, sweet mouthfeel. Almost a year on, the cinnamon is drying other things out and overwhelming it, but itís still good. Iím going to be interested to try it fresh if they barrel age this one again.

Reddish brown pour, tan head. Lovely notes if cinnamon and lots if bourbon, vanilla and oak. Sweet but not cloying. Really damn good!

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Deep amber pour with light head. Nose is mild spice and notes of bourbon. Flavor is more bourbon and more cinnamon. Decent spice without being overdone. Smooth and drinkable body, but a little much for summer

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
22 ounce bottle, 2012 vintage. Served in a chalice, the beer pours a hazy reddish/coper color with about a half inch off-white head. Head retention and lacing are both decent enough. Aroma is nice, the brew smells like cinnamon, bourbon, vanilla, and some bready malt. Taste is similar to the aroma, with the cinnamon and bourbon flavors being strongest (but neither one is overpowering). Mouthfeel/body is medium, itís a bit creamy with moderate carbonation. Itís also smooth and easy to drink. I liked this brew, hopefully Listermann will brew another batch next year. $12.49 a bottle.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Hazy brownish color with a small, off white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of cinnamon, caramel, light roast, vanilla, wood, and bourbon. Taste of caramel, cinnamon, vanilla, wood, and bourbony alcohol in the finish.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours thick mostly unclear with a big decent creamy white head. Aroma is pretty nice bringing a decent amount of cinnamon and then bourbon barrels for sure. The flavor brings sweet malty and boozy bourbon notes that lay pretty thick on the palate. Canít believe the ABV is so low for this brew.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Poured hazy light brown color with an average creamy light brown head that lasted with good lacing. Good complex bourbon and dark spice aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy complex bourbon spice flavor with a medium to heavy spice sweet finish of moderate to long duration. Complex standout brew.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Taster on tap at Listermannís, sampled immediately after having the standard White Death. Sort of a dark red color, thin khaki head. Good lace. Bit darker than the standard, it seems. Good saigon cinnamon nose, with a hint of bourbon this time, and a bit of pear. Wow! The bourbon is amped up in the flavor here, and works with the cinnamon in a really awesome way, here. Much more of a complex, rich and interesting tasty flavor! Nice spicy and woody aroma. Moderate bitterness. Medium to bigger body. Light smooth carbonation, dry finish. This is an incredibly tasty beer. Iím not sure that Iíve ever had a bourbon barrel aged winter beer before, but the concept really works, here.

Draft to taster at Listermannís. Looks good; a hazy reddish-brown with light beige lacing. Smells and tastes solid; cinnamon and bourbon. Good on the palate. Good beer!
