Pour out of 12 oz bottle, thanks beau! Dark brownish black pour with off white/tan head, aroma brought big nutty notes, cocoa powder, hitns of roast, coffee, slight sweet sugary notes as well, nice but not overly sweet. Taste was a mix of nuts, peanut, nice peanut butter, nice cocoa powder, roast, some dark fruit, finishing roasted, some coffee. Nice.

Bottle. Black pour with almost no head. Amazing aroma of peanut butter, hazelnut and chocolate. Tastes slightly sweet which helps to counter the roasty peanuts. Nice hazelnut and chocolate as well. Medium body. Smooth mouthfeel. As with most peanut butter beers the aroma is much better than the taste. But this one holds up better than most others. I would probably drink this regularly if it was available locally.

Bottle. Clear dark brown pour, with a small light tan head. Lots of peanut butter, dry peanuts, hazelnut, and milk chocolate. Simple, but tasty.

My Bottom Line:
Nut skins and chocolate bars branch out into vegetal connotations as light fruitiness moves to a forgettable finish.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam covers the blackish dark brown.
-This actually smells like peanuts. So good job there, I guess.
-No flaws were detected here. The beer is just not a great idea, in my tastes. Nitrogen serving might help out though (it did in the case of Rapp’s own PB Stout).
-You can say that this is ’as advertised’. No idea about their other treatments of this beer though.

on tap @ Listermann / Cincinnati OH --- Opaque black with a tan head cover, broad bands of lace. Taste is malt infused with authentic peanut butter. All moves smoothly to a nicely balanced finish. A novelty brew, no doubt, but as good as (peanut butter), or better than all the others. Great in small doses.

Bottle, via trade with b3shine (thanks Beau!), shared with phantomhennes, heavyleavy, and TvM at game night. Dark brown, lasting soft brown head. Smells like a peanut butter cup, but with a husky/earthy quality that is highly appealing. Rich and full bodied, not cloying or artificial tasting. I’m attributing the success of this unlikely creative effort to their use of lyophilized peanuts-- this doesn’t taste "extracts" at all. Rogue should take notice-- this is how you achieve success with a novelty idea. Fantastic brew!

Draft... Muckfest 2014This beer rocks!… Pours clear and pitch-black with flashes of ruby when held up to bright light. Small, creamy, off-white head. The nose is a mélange of roasted hazelnuts, peanuts and dark chocolate. Full-bodied with a skim-milk mouthfeel and jazzy carbonation. The flavor is a sweet pairing of hazelnuts and chocolate crème. Finishes sweet, roasty and nutty. I’m pretty sure this is simply a peanut butter porter, but I get more hazelnut out of it than anything else – and I love hazelnuts. World class beer!

Bottle, thanks to whoever left this in my fridge! Deep brown pour with a tight tan head. Strong peanut butter aroma. Roasted nuts, caramel, sugar. Very sweet and earthy. A bit of dark chocolate and nutella. Similar flavors. Hints of roasted coffee bitterness. Slight acidity to balance the sweet peanut bitter flavor. Toasted brown sugar, nuts. Full body, oily. Smooth and quite drinkable. Overall, I was surprised to not be overpowered by a sweet bomb of a beer. Good stuff.

Draft. Peanut butter, chocolate, and hay aroma. Dark brown with moderate head. Sweet peanut butter and chocolate malt flavor with light ashy finish. A kick-ass beer.
