draft that poured a dark brown with mocha head. interesting to say the least. but you get roaste malts and plenty of peanut butter in the nose and not just like a reese’s cup but real peanut butter there is some slight chocolate as well in the nose but its mild. the flavor was more of the same lots of roasted malts and peanut butter very good indeed. like how well they blended this together without going overboard..

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
12 ounce bottle, no date on the bottle that I could find. A friend of mine got this for me when he went to Cincinnati recently. Served in a snifter (as recommended on the bottle), the beer pours dark brown/black with about an inch light tan head. Head retention is good, but there isn’t much lacing at all. Aroma is nice, it smells just like a Reese’s peanut butter cup! Lots of peanut butter and chocolate! Taste is similar to the aroma, but there’s also some roasted malt, coffee and bitterness noticeable. It smells more like a Reese’s Cup than it tastes. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it’s a bit coating with moderate carbonation. I liked this a lot, and hopefully I’ll get a chance to try this one again sometime.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Deep brown, nearly black poor with fluffy/creamy toffee colored head. Big peanut butter presence in both aroma and flavor. Something about it tastes fake though. I don’t dislike it, but I don’t altogether dig it either. A bit thin, would have liked it to be chewier.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 oz bottle. Bours a dark brown to black with a large khaki head that leaves some spotty lacing. Aroma of peanut butter and chocolate. Taste is heavy on the peanut butter up front with a nice amount of milk chocolate, nuttiness and toasted malts backing it. Somewhat of a bitter taste coming through, not sure if it’s the hops or something else. Medium bodied, slick and slightly oily texture, moderate carbonation, long finish. Good for the style, but not quite on the same level as Terrapin’s Liquid Bliss - which is pretty much the gold standard for peanut butter porters. Definitely worth your time and money though.

On tap at Daily Growler, UA: blackish pour with thin khaki head that disappears quickly leaving spotty stick. aroma of peanut butter - imagine that. tastes are peanut butter, rich chocolate, little toasty. oily medium palate. interesting well constructed sipper - though I wouldn’t necessarily have to revisit.

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours dark with a mocha thick foam head that dissipates and hugs my glass. The aroma is very chocolate peanut butter driven with a nice background of lightly toasted sweet malts. As I taste this beverage I picked up on sugary dark malted grains, bitter chocolate, and a good peanut toffee flavor. The finish had a soft lingering bitterness with a sharp fading of sweet peanut buttery notes. It was rather pleasant. Overall the body was not as rich and full as I desired. Nonetheless it is a very good peanut butter porter. Definitely worth a try.

Black with a tan head. Aroma is strongly peanuts, chocolate, sweet malts. I’ll bodied. Sweet malts underneath an intense peanut flavor. Chocolate and light roasted malt. Such intense peanut. Lingering peanut butter in the finish. A truly enjoyable brew. Not something I’d drink on the regular but a fun occasional beer.
