wunderbier (1266), Tampere, Rovaniemi over summer, Finland Mar 19, 2008 Updated: Jul 12, 2008 Muskmelon orange under a bubbly white fluff. Pungent mix of fresh grass, basil and thyme over wispy toast and biscuit malts. Grassy oils build over time, harshness compounded by phenols; softly bready and peppery. Fluffy and light to the tongue, yet oily and coating.
Pungent, almost abrasive; dry, phenolic and fruity.
50 cl bottle, best before 15 February 2009.
Only the slightest head is to be coaxed from my pour, leaving a wispy and white film over a light gold body with trickling carbonation. Hay and malt aromas obscure the soft, grassy hops making it feel less like a pilsener and more like a premium lager. Perhaps there’s some menthol lurking further back, but overall the aroma is quite frail. The flavour is moderately sweet with less than enough hops and a touch of pear-like acidity. Very straw like in the aftertaste with a touch of building astringency. Light to medium bodied with an almost sticky texture and bubbly carbonation. 50cl bottle, bbe 19/01/2009.
liinis (393), Finland May 1, 2008 small white head dimishes totally. gold clear colour. that rotten vegetable Tranqui says is true. but flavor is quite OK. milky palate very smooth and soft. leaves mouth a bit dry. aftertaste in a few minutes is awful. Tranquillity (1029), Espoo, Finland Mar 24, 2008 Bottled. Aroma of rotten vegetables and fresh toast bread. Clear yellow, mall white head. Taste a bit bitter in the finish, but quite discusting overall. Taste Scandinavian. ogivlado (2193), Zagreb, Croatia Apr 13, 2007 Canned(500ml). -directly from can in Praha metro. Quite weak and boring beer. Slight malty and faint hoppy with touch of caramel in the end. Mikegothenburg (13), Göteborg, Sweden Mar 17, 2007 Now this is a real fine brew i recently discovered. Havent had to many of them yet but they are very fine. Quite an explicit beer that almost gives the feeling of that it treats you well. Superfine and very drinkable. A very unknown beer that shocked me totally by its grand quality. One of the better middle-level brews around for sure. Bright, a bit thick, broad, a level of breadiness that isnt to exposing but a thicker sweetness that still wont annoy you. A very fine choice for a happy evening.
