Golden with brown tone. Decent white head.
Fresh and hoppy aroma. A bit soapy with maltsweet notes. Some banana.
Buttery flavor with sweetness and banana. Smooth. Tiny bitterness.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 haukur (1009) - Reykjavik, ICELAND - OCT 2, 2004
somewhat sweet aroma, gold is the color. Taste is far from bitter, very straighforward and refreshing, not a bad lager, the the Chechs can do better ...
3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 pootzboy (1451) - Hawgville, Ontario, CANADA - APR 26, 2004
Poured a clear straw-gold, nice frothy cap that dissipated quickly to a glass clinging lace. Wonderful floral-spicy saaz hop aroma mingled with sweet grain smells. Starts fairly crisp, citrus tang, light mouth feelhops are balanced nicely with the bicuit like maltiness then.... that wonderful pilsner thirst busting tartness in the dry finishb leaving a lingering metallic after taste from the hops.
A good representation of the Czech pilsner genre...very drinkable and a premium export beer. Buy some if you like pilsner......and I do.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 TBone (9999) - Pori, FINLAND - APR 22, 2004
Bottled - Pivo Svetlý Lezák (alc. 5.0%, BB 10/2004)
Lager color, small foamy white head. Slightly dunk hop aroma, also a bit sweet. Interesting malty, hoppy flavor which has some sweet and smoked tones also a bit rye flavor. Short finish.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Gazza (726) - Worcester, Worcestershire, ENGLAND - APR 16, 2004
Excellent beer. Rich and floral hops in the nose and flavour, a fairly bitter taste and finish and lots of background maltiness. Tasty and very drinkable. (Bottle from Supermarket, Jesenik)
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Bov (8158) - Bienne, SWITZERLAND - APR 1, 2004
I had this beer many years ago at one time when I was too lazy and stupid to write my thoughts. I will update this as soon as I get my hands on this beer again.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 sayravai (4655) - Helsinki, FINLAND - MAR 17, 2004
UPDATED: MAY 22, 2004 (Bottled, 5.0% ABV) Deep golden color with a smallish head. Strong, buttery and hoppy, hay aroma with a chlorine hint. Quite refreshing and distinctive. Very malty, bitter, salty and sweetish flavor with hay and honey. Smooth, oily and moderately bitter finish with sweetish and buttery aftertaste. Medium-bodied, oily palate. Easily drinkable, refreshing, well-balanced lager/pilsener. Certainly among the very best of pale lagers.
2.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 Oakes (10941) - Savusavu, FIJI ISLANDS - DEC 21, 2003
Straw colour with large bubbles. Deep French bread maltiness and deep, oily Saaz aroma. The body is watery, though, and the palate shows only a hint of that richness. Flavourwise, this is weak and it's not the kind of beer you'd want to try twice.
2.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 JMerritt (1676) - Macomb, Illinois, USA - SEP 16, 2003
Light orange with a small, white head. No lacing. Rye aroma with honey and maple syrup notes. Light bitterness in initial flavor, but finish is bland. Creamy, somewhat oily texture was strange, to say the least.
