3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pint on tap at the brew pub. Pours a dark black/brown with a thick beige head from a nitro pour. Aroma of coffee, smoke, and toast. Flavor is of toasted grain, coffee, and a hint of vanilla. A nice smooth mouthfeel due to the nitro pour.

Thanks to Jon for convincing his family to bring this from Kansas. Dark black body with a small creamy light brown head. Sweet chocolate and roasted malt aroma. Sweet creamy chocolate and roasted malt flavor.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours intense, opaque, light-blocking brown-black. Persistent tan head, dense from nitrogenation, is whisker-thin but leaves an impressive amount of lace on the sides fo the glass. Aroma reveals a big chocolate nose, also plenty of roasted grain, a dose of vanilla and a hint of maple. Flavor is a huge burst of chocolate, vanilla, crunchy sweetness as if this were an oatmeal stout, and a piney hop bitterness that hangs in the background. No gritty carbon/charcoal flavor. Palate is clunky, flat and dead on account of insufficient nitrogenation. Ironically, this would probably have been better on standard carbonated draft. Tastes great; nitro-infusion needs work.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
I have to say this was a pretty tasty stout. Strong roasted coffee aroma, with some chicory, and perhaps a bit of licorice. Just bitter enough and not overly dry on the palate, with some nice coffee and chocolate flavors.

Excellent palate and smokey flavor. Flavor could use some refinement though an excellent brewpub beer. Very nice

3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
I purchased a growler of this for a tasting at csbosox house. This poured black with a thin white head. The aroma was chocolate and coffee with some grass. The taste was toasted coffee with some anise. This was watery with a paper like finish. Some potential, but they need to take it off nitro.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Thanks to Eric for this nitro poured growler. Nearly black, reddish tints. Aroma of licorace, dark fruits, caramel. Watery mouthfeel, maybe due to the nitro growler transfer? (I’ll err on the side of caution and give it a 3) Dark malt, chocolate, and coffee flavor with a bitter-ish finish. Good for Manhattan, which is Lawrence’s fun lovin, hick cousin.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Poured from a growler that was filled form a nitro tap. Opaque inky black. Caramel, raisin, and burnt aromas. Reisin candies, pretty sweet, and finished with a roasted dryness. Full bodied. Coats the tongue. Silky and slick. Not too shabby.
