3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at Archive Beer Boutique September 2013. Honey amber in colour with a dominating citrus aroma. Feels thin in the mouth but has some good flavour.

Very pleasantly surprised with Little Creaturesí first foray into IPAís. Aroma citrus and medium hops. Appearance golden yellow amber. Taste a highlight - citrus with medium hops and a very pleasant lingering IPAish taste on the roof of the mouth (is that a technical beer tasting term haha?) Overall a very satisfying beer. Not the full-on IPA of the Pacific Northwest, but much more than the british / Scottish versions. Excellent beer.

Canít believe itís taken so long to try this!
Deep golden beer holds a firm white head.
Good nose packed full of plenty of cooked citrus, woody spice, pine herbaceousness, with a complimentary background of toasty, light caramel malt.
The palate is where it kicks up a gear from the pale ale; more body, a nice chewiness to the texture, longer on the finish.
The maltiness is quite a joy; ESB-like with plenty of nutty biscuity caramel crystal malt to support a firm bitterness and notes of citrus rind & pine resin.
Very nice, worthy of being the big brother of the legendary Pale Ale - not overdone, which is refreshing.

330ml bottle. Poured a clear bronzed amber with a dense and lasting lacy one-finger off-white head. Markedly different from a standard IPA with vanilla bean and chocolate characters in addition to the more archetypal pine, herbs and grapefruit standard. Medium body with solid malty palate weight and a brightly spritzy palate carbonation lifting the zesty, pithy and herbal hop bite with a slight gingery kick in the last. Protracted in the finish with a balanced bittersweetness. A decent IPA with pleasing intensity and interesting points of difference.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
One of the best Australian IPAs available. Pours well and the hopping has been well thought out with flavour up-front as well as in the after-taste.

Quite a sweet nose, which translated through on the palate which was a bit sugary. Definitely drinkable, but think I would stick to the PA.

UPDATED: APR 23, 2015 IRevisited this expensive little bitch a subtle but pleasant and pretty aroma. Good low carbonation creamy head, cloudy. Decent lingering bitter hops aftertaste but no nasties.. Itís a good one, just let down a little by the lack of a prominent aroma to clear the nose before each tug of brew.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
A good Aussie IPA but lacking a bit of hop punch and bitterness. A good alternative to many other IPAs nonetheless. Fairly good hop aroma with a touch of lychee and pine. A good session Aussie IPA, good work Little Creatures, in meeting the demand for more hop orientated beers in the Australian craft beer market.

Cloudy orange beer, small white head, clear floral and citric aromas comin from the hops are felt, but some sweet like honey are also perceived. When is tasted a medium body is felt. The flavor indeed has a strong hops making it floral, citric and bitter, but in contrast with an adequate balance with the malt, expected for the style. At the end of the day it could be the best Australian IPA I have tried so far.

I have enjoyed the pale ale on more occasions than is good for me and it is a benchmark of good beer. I thought the pils was good and then felt the rest of the range tailed off. Would this bring the trend up somewhat?
Slightly hazy golden amber in colour with a good finger of rocky cream coloured head. A snort of aroma brings our a creamy character along with Seville oranges, grapefruit and some cassia bark (this is me wanting not admit it just has the aniseed notes the label holds and wanting to suggest my organoleptic abilities are more sophisticated than the everyman... yep. Iím a wanker) It is mellow, the aroma, approachable and superbly gratifying. A sip reveals that marmalade citrus with tangy sweet bitterness and brings for a hankering for one, two, three more. A delight in every facet so far; an immediate hit. I want, and will get, more.
