2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Australia’s jump into the highly hopped pale ales seems to fall a bit short of what it could be in this example. Pours a medium golden with a bit of amber highlights, limited foam. Aromas of light citrus, grapefruit, upfront along with a few non-distinct tropical notes. Displays a modest and neutral malt character. As an american pale ale, this beer could use a lot more hop character, especially in the finish which tails off slightly watery. An average at best american pale ale, however it is a step in the right direction for pale ales in Australia.

Citrussy and hoppy all in one blast. Quite refreshing and crisp, would be perfect for a warm summers day.

(33cl from Tight; BBD: Feb 21st 2014) Pours semi clear golden with white head. Good retention and lace. Aroma is subdued, faded hops with hints of citrus fruits. Oily texture, medium bodied, soft carbonation and slightly dry finish. Flavour has a moderate bitterness. Ok, but most likely too old as the aroma is nothing like the galaxy driven pale ales I’ve brewed myself.

330ml bottle from Drinker’s Paradise, London. Has a promising fragrant elderflower aroma, continuing into the taste with a vague pot pourri to the citrus. Very nice.
