Since the giant wooden doors opened for the first time at Little Creatures Brewery’s Fremantle base, the popular pilsner has been on the bar alongside the nationally released Pale Ale and Rogers’ Beer. We like the idea of lager styles being crisp, clean and elegant as opposed to overly "meaty", malty or sharp. This is a refreshing pilsner based on the classically structured European examples that use the finest Saaz hops and a patient fermentation regime.

Must admit this was a little dissapointing, having drunk so much of there PA. But having said that I had high expectations. Has not been realised commercially yet because they dont think its up to scratch, these are the words of the bar tender at the brewery in Fremantle. Its got that little something that is so prominent in the PA. floral critrisie flavour that is soo appealing. Just lacking that clean, palate hugging saaz flavour. Having said that i would drink it all night.

Weak aroma of grass. Taste subtle grass and some mild citrus notes. Slightly bitter finish. It’s okay.

aroma nothing to speak of, a relatively thin bodied pale lager with an accompanying (and redeeming) bitterness, which is pretty much what I have found Pilseners to be in my limited experience. So a good choice if you are drinking are lager but overpriced like other Little Creatures products. This sixer was half price.

330ml bottle into schooner glass. Faint hop nose. Solid white head on top of a very pale yellow beer. Possibly one of the palest beers I’ve ever seen. Lightly carbonated with a flat mouthfeel. Very easy drinking. Finish is a little grainy, crisp and abrupt. Good quencher for hot afternoons.

Spicy grass aroma in a straw yellow pour. Nice local example of the style that is crisp and clean (rather than fruity - as some antipodean versions are).

Clear pale yellow, medium short-lasting white head. Grains, herbs, grass, trace of pepper on the nose. Clean crisp light-medium bodied palate. Sweet malts at first then a light-medium grassy hop finish. Decent pils. (330ml bottle, BB 12/3/16).

.33l bottle @ Hanniku’s Cave. Pours pale yellow with low head. Aroma is malts, lemon grass, hay and some honey. Flavor is mostly same, with some metal notes. Easy to drink but a bit too sweet pilsner.
