COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Following on from the India Pale Ale earlier in the year, us brewers have been debating what to do next. The result of these passionate discussions – our version of a Brown Ale! For this one we focused on Australian hops, in particular Tasmanian Hallertau and Cascade, Topaz and Galaxy, which have been added in four additions in the brewing process – early and late kettle, whirlpool and hopback. The result – a beer with a fantastic hop aroma combined with a punchy bitterness. There is plenty of malt in the back to balance out the hops including pale ale, munich, crystal, rye and roast malt. 5.4% alcohol.

Nice aroma, and generally agreeable flavours over a relatively thin body, but a nice beer halfway between the english northern brown ales and the american brown ale styles.

Bottle. Clear brown with small head. Nice aroma with a mix of malts and hops. Medium body and carbonation. The flavour has a floral hop and tangy start with a rich and hoppy fairly bitter finish. Overall it’s a very nice beer, although it’s an unusual brown ale with plenty of hops.

Poured from 568ml (pint) bottle into tulip glass, amber-brown colour with big, frothy off-white head, leaves good lacing. Soft malty aroma with classic Little Creatures hoppiness. Taste is indeed a very "Little Creatures" style, with the classic hop hit of the Little Creatures Pale Ale in a soft malty texture. Medium body and carbonation. This beer is very drinkable and sessionable.

Pint bottle in Sydney.

Deep cola pour, moderate head. Interesting to pick up the cascade notes in the aroma atop a brown ale nuttiness; some gentle sweetness to the flavor and even roast, but the hops are doing the majority of the work here, making for an enjoyable and distinctive brown ale. Not in the league of their pale ale, but nevertheless very nice for an Australia craft beer.

Excellent beer, pour is chestnut brown with thin tan head. Aroma that is a mix of citrus and spice. Flavour is great, upfront light malt that moves in to a great mix of breadiness citrus and persistant bitter finish.

500ml bottle. Pours a chocolatey brown colour with a flat even sand coloured head. Sweet chocolate aromas blended together with malt and hops. Flavour is smooth and light on the palate but leaves a lingering pleasant aftertaste. Another fine effort from Little Creatures.

UPDATED: AUG 28, 2012 Pours an amber red with a very large slightly off white head. Aromas of sweet malts, nuts, chocolate and your typical creatures hoppiness. Flavours of sweet malts with a big floral hop backing. Very hoppy for a brown ale but adds to the drinkability. Pretty happy with this one

568mL pint bottle. Deep amber body with small beige foam persisting. Quite a mild aroma; subtle yet complex. Resiny hops, fruity lime, bit of tropical fruit (pineapple maybe?). Toffee malt in the background, a hint of chocolate and bread dough. Texture has a distinct husky dryness about it, some sweetness adds body with a medium carbonation. Decidely spicy flavour of medium intensity. Burnt caramel, rye bread, cocoa combine well with resinous hops with notes of tobacco leaf, tomato stalk, orange rind and guava. Bitterness is oddly subdued considering the hop intensity, drying rye-spice finish. Quite a different offering from these boys. Very well made and hoppy, like their legendary pale ale, but somewhat understated in comparison, with a complex malt backbone. Enjoyable, in a unique sort of way.
