COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
According to well versed folklore, a red sky at night was a reassuring vision for those that spent their days toiling at the mercy of Mother Nature’s whims. Today, a stunning sunset serves more as the perfect accompaniment to a day’s end ale than a guide to fair weather ahead. With that in mind, this hop mad Red IPA is as captivating as the night sky, with our most lavish hopping regime to date. The resulting heady spice citrus aromas and lasting dry bitterness is balanced with a malt bill delivering depth of flavour and a distinct copper-orange hue that would provide any weary shepherd with plenty of delight.

Don’t see a lot of "red" in the flavour but this is a well made and taunt IPA. Hoppy but not aggressive and very good balance. All points to high session value.

Bottle from Plonk. Dark reddish-amber, grapefruit, tropical fruit, piney hop bitterness, sweet bready malt. Nice.

Red-amber pour with a decent off-white head. Aroma is grapefruit, passionfruit, and musk sticks? Taste is big citrus up front, bitter, which gives way to sweet malty goodness. Don’t mind this one at all.

Pours a beautiful red color with two fingers of foamy off white head. I could smell this as soon as I poured it. Hoppy nose, but the hops are backed by considerable malt sweetness which gives it a tropical fruit punch aroma. There’s mango, banana and a hint of sweetness. Flavours are hoppy but balanced. More tropical fruit on the palate, a bit of banana and a very clean finish. This bottle is a little old by now, so I feel like the hops have probably faded. Regardless, this is a well balanced and flavoursome beer.

Find this so average. One is enough. Disappointing when expected something better than the rest of the recent poor ’special’ releases. Has Little Creatures lost their mojo?

Amber red and clear, moderate use of hops and a really nice medium malt character. Good malty amber ale and easy to knock of a few of these.

The single batch beers are always good and this one doesn't disappoint. Cloudy mahogany in colour with a huge passionfruit aroma. Subtle bitterness with grapefruit and passionfruit along with a sweet malt back note throughout beer. The bitterness lasts long into the back palate creating a perfectly constructed and subtle beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

At just on cool and into a snifter. This one produces a translucent deep copper with carbonation that is few and far between. Solid and lasting creamy sheen of foam atop leaves behind a thin lace. Plummy, vinous and resinous, herbal hops glow in the aroma showing flakes of nettles, pine, soft white cheese, kelp, red berries and peaches. A let down for the palate. Comes on as nutty, husky and a little rough. Piney, herbal finish; mild grass, mild butter. Body is full and cumbersome; it sits heavy in the stomach. Good bitter grip though, impressed by it. Caramel, biscuity malts give it sweetness along with a light lick of marmalade. At 6.2% ABV it has a bit of alcohol for the breath. Overall it is a mouthful of ale, and that is it. Enjoyed the pint, but moved on quick like. (568mL, BB 08/12/13, Dan Murphy’s Currambine)

Pours a nice amber color with a small head that fades to some lacing. Aroma of pine, citrus, fresh fruit and bit of spice. Tatse is a blend of pine and citrus, with fruit, bit of caramel and trace of spice. Nice bitterness and a clean finish with a trace of lingering hops. Medium body, smooth and nicely balanced. Enjoyable beer, nice for the style. Worth checking out.

From a 568ml bottle on 28/5/2013 (ABV listed as 6.4%, not 6.2%). Pours a slightly cloudy reddy amber with a smallish head. Has a modest pleasant light, sweet fruity aroma. Exhibits some caramel, toffee and toasty malt, with lots of sweet citrus and stone fruit. Has a good, medium hop kick. The body is medium to full and the carbonation is medium. They suggest that this is a red IPA though it doesn’t have much IPA character in my view. That said, it’s a very enjoyable, if quite subtle, beer. Hides its 6.4% very well.
