3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Gravity Dispense at the 13th Egham Beer Fest. It pours very dark brown with a medium tan head. The nose is wood, roasted malt, chocolate, coffee grinds and earth. The taste is roasted malt, wood, resinous, big on the coffee, assertive bitterness, charcoal and tar with a dry finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. Flavoursome, robust and well balanced. A damn tasty coffee beer.

Don’t know how those Norwegians got hold of their coffee, and to be honest the flavour’s not particularly coming through for me. Delicious aroma though, deep and woody and, yes maybe a bit of coffee. Also a bit forest floor, slightly rotten twigs underfoot - anyway, I like. Taste delivers too with a deep bitter finish. Very nice. Great winter drink.

Cask conditioned at Egham Beer Fest #13. Black with tan head. Big beer, heavy liquorice flavours mixed with the roasty coffee notes, masses of palate, woody and charcoal malts. Lasting and a very decent beer indeed. Nothing little about this one.
