A strong coffee flavoured stout, fermented with Norwegian lager yeast and based on an Old Norwegian recipe.

A coffee-flavoured stout, made with a special lager yeast from the far north of Norway, and with the addition of pressed coffee in the secondary fermenter. Juicy dark fruit and powerful expresso will gather into a storm and flood your palate. Watch out.

Don’t know how those Norwegians got hold of their coffee, and to be honest the flavour’s not particularly coming through for me. Delicious aroma though, deep and woody and, yes maybe a bit of coffee. Also a bit forest floor, slightly rotten twigs underfoot - anyway, I like. Taste delivers too with a deep bitter finish. Very nice. Great winter drink.

Gravity at the 13th Egham BF @ EUSC - 15/11/12. Mid black with a thin tan head that soon clears to the edges. Nose comprises roast malts, a little soap, pinch of coffee. Tastes of roast malts, touch of smoke, vanilla, light burnt notes, touch of molasses. Full end of medium bodied with soft carbonation leading to a smooth roasted finish. Decent!

Cask conditioned at Egham Beer Fest #13. Black with tan head. Big beer, heavy liquorice flavours mixed with the roasty coffee notes, masses of palate, woody and charcoal malts. Lasting and a very decent beer indeed. Nothing little about this one.

Gravity Dispense at the 13th Egham Beer Fest. It pours very dark brown with a medium tan head. The nose is wood, roasted malt, chocolate, coffee grinds and earth. The taste is roasted malt, wood, resinous, big on the coffee, assertive bitterness, charcoal and tar with a dry finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. Flavoursome, robust and well balanced. A damn tasty coffee beer.
