375ml bottles - filtered. Occasionally on cask.

An English Pale Ale brewed with the Pale, Wheat, Crystal and Biscuit malts, with the addition of sweet chestnuts in the mash.
On a fine autumn’s evening, after kicking up the leaves on a long walk in the woods … this is the beer to come home to. Warm, full-bodied, mellow, with fruit and biscuit flavours in the centre and a little smokiness on the edge. It has a honey colour & the fresh aroma of hay and earthy hops. Highly quaffable.

Pours attractive, with a head that holds up well, but not much carbonation. Aroma is overwhelming chestnuts which is a bit disconcerting, very sweet, and then some yeastiness. Taste - smooth and rich. Lovely bitter finish. But something missing in the middle - not enough fizz? Overall, pretty easy drinking - no complaints about that though. Not sure if the chestnuts are a good addition.

Keg at Draft House. Dark orange or light brown, slightly hazy, dense white head, light lacing. Aroma is liquorice, bock lager, syrupy, some nut. Body is medium, a bit foamy, low-ish carbonation. Taste is toffee, chestnut, honey. It’s a bit like a bock lager or a Belgian strong ale in flavour. Very interesting stuff.
