Light and fresh with a hint of ginger and citrus, makes a delicious aperitif or perfectly accompanies any spicy Indian or Chinese meal. Our first Fairtrade real ale.

500ml bottle from BeerBods. Hit of citrus then the ginger follows. A very light and refreshing drink - tastes like it would be equally wanted on a summer’s evening and with a spicy curry in the middle of winter. Very different from Pale Ales I’ve had and that’s a good thing.

0.5 bottle. Gold, slightly hazy color with a small, off-white head. Aroma is dominated by ginger, seems fresh and spicy, very much like the marinated one used when eating sushi; not much besides that, a little hint of floral notes. Taste is saturated with ginger as well, other than that it is slightly malty with typical hay flavors. Medium body, oily texture, and lively carbonation. Finish is long and exactly like the taste with the exception of a delicate bitterness appearing towards the end. Overall the beer is really unusual, seems very much as if one was eating marinated ginger; it even leaves a spicy, cleansing sensation in one’s mouth. It does require some balancing in my opinion.

From a bottle at a friend’s. The taste is strongly gingery so that most of the other features stay hidden.

50cl bottle. Very small white head disappearing. Clear peach color. Aroma of ginger ale and hops. Taste is flowers and ginger ale with perfume.

Medium white head. Clear amber body. Spicy fresh ginger aroma with vague fruity notes. Dry spicy gingery taste with soapy notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, faintly hot mouthfeel. Dryish spicy gingery aftertaste with papery cardamom notes. The basic flavour is really, really close to shop-bought ginger freshly sliced. Nice, drinkable, perhaps a little bit lacking in complexity, but the ginger flavour is well preserved. (0.5l bottle, from Toft Vin, Copenhagen.)

Cask at Paisley Beer Festival on 12/9/13 as ’Ginger Pale Ale’. Ginger very much to the front in this, spicy.

Lys brun med minimalt med skum. Lukter godt ingefær og noe sitrus. Smaker ingefær, men irriterende doven, ingen kullsyre.

(Bottle, 0.5 l. from a supermarket, 20130719) The beer poured golden and clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma was like the one of ginger ale: ginger and sugary sweetness. Palate was medium bodied and bit stingy with medium carbonation. Flavours were sweetness, ginger, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste had ginger and bitter. Not my style of beer.

500ml bottle - Pours a light golden hue with a rather small head. No retention or lace. Aromas of orange, mild ginger, and other spices. Taste is citrus, mild zest with notes of ginger. Light caramel, and hints of bread. Light in body, sort of watery to be honest. Not bad, and quite refreshing.
