3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
pours peachy golden with a billowy head that looks like meringue and was film by the end leaving decent lacing. aroma full of green hops, minerals and some metal. not much citrus or fruits but some floral action. Again, lots of mineral and even some earth in the taste. bitterness from the pith of a grapefruit but not much of the fruit. bit of veggie flavor as well. palate is a bit lively carbonation is active. Overall not bad but not what I look for in an IPA. Too aggressive all around, but refreshing.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Small fat bottle with no best before date in the designated best before place on the label. Pours clear yellow/orange with a large frothy off white head. Peculiar nose of burnt rubber. The flavour open things up a lot with notes of black pepper, dry flowers, grass, dried plants, straw, bread. Has nicely balanced bitterness and lively carbonation that makes easy to drink. Not much of an American IPA, though.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
750ml bottle, best before Dec 2012, at tasting on 20 January 2013. Thanks to Theydon_Bois for sharing. Described as a Red IPA but didn’t seem that red to me. More like golden amber. Decent enough hops here - peppery and citric (grapefruit at the same time). A touch restrained but note this was a touch beyond its best before date so the hop character may have faded somewhat. Should probably try this again, but fresher. The balancing malts are quite fruity with a touch of (unwanted) toffee. Solid enough.

Medium sweet flavor with dry bread, light dry caramel, some leafy bitterness. Medium bodied with fine to average, creamy carbonation. Dry, clean bready malt finish, further lightly dried caramel, a bit of dirt. Not bad.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
330ml bottle (Snow@ChrisO)
Lovely toffee aroma, fruity and interesting. Taste is a little papery, but it has a very nice rich toffee-ish roast. Again ruity. Finish has a gentle woody bitterness. Unlike most red ales, I actually like this - good one!
