specksnreds (49), USA Jul 21, 2008 A nice session lager. Weak in the finish and doesn’t linger on the palate long. Subtle malt, little hoppiness, but I enjoy it in a frosty mug. Good stuff, but not my first choice.
kmweaver (1813), Takoma Park, Maryland, USA Jul 20, 2008 Draft @ Brickskeller. Pours a clear orange color; thick, creamy white head with great retention and glistening lacing that coats the glass; great pour. Very fruity, spritzy aroma: raspberries (surprisingly), red fruits, light maltiness; fruity and lightly hopped. Light carbonation. Medium mouthfeel: red fruits, touches of pitty raspberries / raspberry syrup, and some basic candy maltiness; undercarbonated and underhopped, at least for what I’d like to see from an amber / vienna. Medium finish: toasty malts, red fruits, and wet malts; quite toasty end. zerobrew (6), , Texas, USA does not count Jun 27, 2008 Most recently had this one on tap at Gingerman, but have had this one from kegs in the back yard as well. Pours a dark amber with 1/4 inch of off white head. I love the deep medium dark color of this beer. The aroma is of woody malt and slightly citrus hops. The flavors are very clean and crisp, with layers of oak, citrus, smoke and dark fruits all easily discernable. The hops are well balanced in this brew but Ive had a few in the past with a sour/astringent hop after taste. kidmartinek (656), austin, Texas, USA Mar 13, 2008 A cloudy amber pour, almost no head. Refreshing aroma of strong sweet malt. Smells better than it tastes. The flavor is like slightly sour malt and strong spicy hops. Average lacing on the glass. Consistency is like juice and the finish is nice. oreogobbler (130), Austin, Texas, USA Mar 6, 2008 Sweet oak aroma some orange zest, and smoked malts. Pours a dark orange/amber brown, thin soapy head. Oak, pine, tiny bit of hickory and toasted malts in the finish. Palate is smooth but a bit bland in the finish. Meh.
