Impressed. Malty and nutty aroma. Beautiful clear, almost metallic copper color with a white head. Even to the point that my wife commented on how pretty it was and she doesn’t give a crap about beer. Good crisp and clean palate with nice carbonation. Pleasant flavors for a style I don’t particularly gravitate toward. Clean grainy malts with a woody or nutty essence. Very well balanced.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Draft pour at Backspin in Austin. Pours golden amber with a soapy white head that fades to a collar with webby lacing. Aroma is muted- malt, bread, not much more. Flavor is clean and refreshing, with some maltiness and a crisp finish. Light mouthfeel and mild palate. Enjoyable and easy to drink but isn't impressive.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pint on tap. Light honey color, good lacing, head bubbles down to a collar. Nice aroma, malty goodness. Taste is very good for the style, light, and drinkable. It probably won’t win many awards, but it’s a consistent, sessionable vienna lager with a lot of character.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On draft at The Flying Saucer in San Antonio, TX.
The beer is amber hued with a half inch of head. Aromas of lager yeast, light fruity character, a touch of bread / grain. Fresh, really smooth on the palate and well balanced. Easy to drink and enjoy. Refreshing on a warm summer day. I sat outside and alternated between this and Live Oak Hefe, both tasty brews. Definitely above average for the style. I normally don’t enjoy amber lagers this much. I would definitely have this again.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Medium amber body, thin off-white head, traces of lacing. Crackery and grainy malts, some caramel, light floral hops. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, a bit muddled. Not Live Oak’s best.

~12 oz draft at the Craft and Growler in Dallas, Texas. The pour is a clear amber with a small egg white head. The aroma is faint, what is there is malt, cracker, and straw. Clean, just muted nose. The taste is big cracker malt, mineral earth, straw, and finishes with hay. The palate is light to medium bodied, soft natural carbonation, and an earthy straw herbal finish. Clean and tasty.
