tap at a bar in downtown Austin-well, after having their pilsner, this one falls very short. pretty boring for an amber-weak body with some spicy german hops. thin malts. not very solid

A simple session type of "mass appeal" that left me with nothing but want. Want for maltier richness, want for a lasting head, want for something in my next mug.

Crash (531) - Macomb, Illinois, USA - OCT 3, 2005
GABF 2005: Amber color with small head. Aroma was strange but, I didn’t really nail anything down. The taste was OK. This was just an OK beer.

Medium amber body, thin off-white head, traces of lacing. Crackery and grainy malts, some caramel, light floral hops. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, a bit muddled. Not Live Oak’s best.

Draft at Hole in the Wall. Flavor is very hoppy for an amber beer. Good but not great.

dyetube (1157) - McKinney, Texas, USA - JAN 21, 2011
Draft at the Gingerman Plano. This beer pours a medium amber with a thin off white head. The aromas are bread, musk and a hint of citrus. The mouthfeel is slightly sticky with a light bitterness and medium body. An average beer at best.

Barreras (854) - Diamond Bar, California, USA - DEC 27, 2012
Pours an amber color with a malt aroma. Taste is clean with no distinct flavor. A simple amber ale that was refreshing but not complex. Enjoyable while sitting at Riverwalk in San Antonio.

DarkBeerChick (155) - San Antonio, Texas, USA - MAR 20, 2010
Deep golden orange with light tan head. Smells slightly sweet, but really not much of an aroma at all. A very light lager that is not big on flavor...very bland. Lightly carbonated and watery. Doesn’t live up to it’s name "Big Bark Amber". Where’s the "Big" and where’s the "Amber"?
