3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft at Flying Saucer in Houston. Pours a clear amber with a thick, off-white head. Smell is hoppy, but not distinct in citrus or pine. More of a subdued, earthy, grassy type. Taste is like the smell in that it doesnít jump out at you in sweetness or bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium and slightly creamy smooth with a mild bitter aftertaste. About average.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at Flying Saucer. Has a cloudy amber color with a thick off white head. The aroma is very hoppy with light citrus. The taste is a sweet hops and very easy to drink. I enjoyed this IPA from Live Oak.

Draught. Deep orange pour. Aroma is mild musky hops, chinook-heavy. Balanced flavor, some sweetness with a dry bitter finish. A solid IPA but nothing particularly noteworthy.

Thick unfiltered orange-red in color with a nice IPA head. Smell is sweet and hoppy - a bit too subtle though. Taste is sweet with a nice hoppy finish. Thicker palate than I figured it would have. The taste almost seems a bit watery up front and then it develops more toward the finish. I would have again - very drinkable!

Too much hoppy, not enough poppy! I like hops as much as the next schmo, but there wasnít any compensation of flavor. It looked and smelled great, but itís bark was better than the bite. Still, a good beer. On tap at Flying Saucer.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draught. Pours light golden with a moderate white head. Aroma and flavor are both grass and grain with a bit of hops. Kind of a weird brewpub yeastiness, and not much hop flavor. Not bad, but not one of the better IPAs Iíve had either.

This Liberation has an amber color with an off white head. A strong smell of grassy, fresh cut hay with hop buds was kinda funky skunky. I ask the bar maid about this , she replied the keg had just been tapped that day...hmm, interesting. Itís medium bodied with a smooth texture and lightly carbonated. The taste starts with a good flavor of biscuity pale malts quickly overcome by that funky pungent hop tang in the finish.
A pretty good pale ale here, with a unusual hop flavor.

2.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
On tap at Gingerman Austin,
Aroma of grass and some light citrus. Body is buttery and bready, insanely bad diacetyl finish. Like this thing was steeped with buttered popcorn jelly belly beans. Hops try to cut through, they only slightly make their presence known.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Cloudy light burnt orange colored beer with frothy bright white head. Some lacing. Smell is nice, unique apricot, orange, fruity hops. Taste is fairly bitter all the way through first sip to the aftertaste, but fruity too and nice. A touch of orange juice sweetness in the back, but I wish it cut through the bitterness just a touch more. Not a bad IPA at all, but Iíve had a few that I really like, so this doesnít quite measure up in comparison. Definitely worth a try though.
