Draught at the Alamo Drafthouse - S. Lamar, Austin, Oct. 20. Pours a deep orange with an average size foamy white head. Aroma of sweet malt, fruit, some sugary sweetness and a hint of chocolate. Flavour of caramel malt, sweet fruit and nuts -- a bit watery as well. Average bodied. It’s fine, not really my thing though.

Very smooth and accessible. An oak barrel Oktoberfest that goes down easy.

A bit more herbatious and caramely with a feral quality. Malts are very interesting. The yeast eaters are complex to the point of confusion. Finish is clean without much linger.

Slight nuttiness and bit of diacetyl on the nose. Palate is cleaner, hint of roastiness.

GABF 2011. Clear light amber with a foamy white head. Aroma of dry biscuity malts and a light oak tone, some rye. Flavor has not nearly enough oak. Too biscuity and a little bland. Off-dry and almost a little burnt tasting.

draft at plano gingerman; malty nice oktober beer a few nothces below brooklyn (had at same time).

Draft at the Fort Worth saucer. Rich and malty with a sweet edge. Quit a nice example of the style. (#4339, 10/12/2011)

On tap at the Flying Saucer. Amber pour with a white head. Malt aromas. An easy drinking Marzen with loads of malt flavors.

On tap at Queen Vic. Pours a clear copper with large creamy off white head leaving good sticky lacing along the glass. The aroma is a bready malt and raisin. Thin mouthfeel with a light malt with lingering light bitter finish. Easy to drink a good Märzen from Live Oak.
